I'm not bent over at all
I'm glad I'm not you. I don't have a preset mix to use at an event. I know how to read a crowd normally and will play the right music for an event. What if what you have preset isn't what a certain crowd wants, what do you do then?
This is a great method. I need to make some new premade mixes myself with newer music. Great for dinner and walkin times at wedding's.I pre-make mixes for cocktail and dinner time frequently. I have a bunch already made, and I make custom ones for any couple that expresses taste that I don't already have a mix that fits perfectly.
I use them for prelude (pre-ceremony) music. Typically about 40 minutes. Cocktail hour, so I have time to break down the ceremony equipment. And sometimes dinner so I have time to eat and break down cocktail hour gear.
I mix all of the dance music live. But for background music, having some pre-set stuff is helpful.
Some DJs use an automix feature like what VDJ has. And I can do that too with MegaSeg. But I like that I can load a mix onto an mp3 player for cocktails and it runs just fine on it's own. And it sounds like I'm doing it live because I was able to tailor the blends just like I want.

While I'm flattered that my name comes up in your conversations with him,
1)Don't believe everything he tells you. he was in prison, after all
2) how long have you two known each other?
Apparently you didn't at the last event where they asked you to play something else ..I'm glad I'm not you. I don't have a preset mix to use at an event. Again like I said, I'm not used to doing an event like that one playing dance music at the beginning and the dance hasn't started. It's OK. I know what to do if I do another event for them. Hit them in the gut right away. No classic Soul.

I'd like to hear your pre-mixes for cocktail and dinner. Or a song title lists. Care to share?

I acknowledge and am cognizant of those realities but I still prefer to rely on the tried and true softwar in a robust laptop as opposed to an onboard app.
FYI, it took me more than a decade to get to trusting a laptop.
Addenda: I'm often an early adapter but not immediately on matters important to my responsibilities.
Hell no.Me too...I carried CD's and extra computers forever.
Rocky we fought the battles so these guys could claim victory on the war
Of course , its a Mac only app/software.And I can do that too with MegaSeg. But I like that I can load a mix onto an mp3 player for cocktails and it runs just fine on it's own. And it sounds like I'm doing it live because I was able to tailor the blends just like I want.
