Let's get the first big thing out of the way. The price a potential client wants to pay to book you. Sometimes there's room for negotiations and other times what they want to pay is not enough to get you to do the event. Just not worth it.
My 3 other things I think of is are we the right fit for the event? Yes we can stretch the envelope a bit. Like the time we did a Baby Shower and they wanted Spanish music. We did the event and they had a great time. At the end they decided they wanted some American music. We pulled it off even though we're not experts at Spanish music.
I just like to be careful so we don't end up ruining a client's event and make us look bad.
The next thing is if we have enough gear to do the event (which now we've added on a bunch of stuff that we can do larger events. ). So unless it's a big festival type of event then we're good to go.
The other 2 things are the type of event it is, who the event is for including the people attending the event and where the event is to take place. All someone used to have to do was contact us and we would rush to the event anywhere for practically any amount of money. That's when I was super excited to be back doing what I love to do and in need of exposure. Not today. I'm selective as to the type of events we do and the location the is to take place. My top priority today is safety first. That's because a lot of crazy people are out in the world doing crazy things.
