Pretty easy to solve that... You just turn the lights off if they aren't appropriate for the event...

... but if lighted totems are not appropriate, probably moving heads wouldn.t be either, so I'd just bring my regular EVOX8's and not totems.:)
The movers put light elsewhere (on the floor, etc.) .. the self lighted totems/poles/facade/et al basically call attention to themselves. Some of that is OK ..

The one down side to my concept is that the height can't be adjustable.
... Actually... I guess it could be... You could have an extension section that goes in between the upper and lower sections of the totem...

... But then I'd have to figure out how to extend the lighted sub pole.

Those custom totems are closing in on $1K a piece now .. :)

LOL... Maybe so. But cost is really not the issue at this point. Custom doesn't come cheap.
True .. though I'd want it to be more usable than one dedicated to a J8 box at some point.

Good point. The top speaker size could be an issue, as would the method of mounting the base plate of the totem to the base unit of the speaker system. A totem that's a little more universal or more adjustable poses a lot more challenges.

That might work... But you CAN buy those LED strip lights they use in those tube light fixtures, and you can buy the acrylic tubing and a light controller, so it would not be terribly difficult to build your own lighted-sub-pole to your exact specs if you wanted to. The LED lights are pretty inexpensive, but have you looked at the cost of acrylic tubing (with thick sidewalls to make it strong enough not to bend with the weight of a PA speaker)? Not cheap!

Luckily the EVOX top weighs very little ..

A few more pics of the rig that are more detailed -

DSC_0008.JPGDSC_0019.JPGDSC_0011.JPGDSC_0015.JPGDSC_0022.JPGDSC_0025.JPG

The large cutout in the top is for laptop ventilation, and a handhold so it can be carried with one hand. Only one AC wire comes out - all the wallwarts are in the strip inside.

Power Amp Case -

The iNuke 3000 still works great - I know some had diode failures in the power supply. It drives the subs and gets it's signal from the Realistic "Bass Enhancer" which can give a very big signal boost at a very low frequency. I have it set to 6db boost at 50Hz, which I'll turn off once I start playing LOUD to protect the subs.

The Samson S1000 drives the tops and is a beautiful sounding Class A/B amp @ 340 real RMS watts per channel. It's only problem is it weighs 36 pounds, hence it is now carried separately from the case.

I don’t know what’s next, but I’m pretty sure that my next system is going to be more of a podium style system than a rack system like the ones I currently use. I also know it will have two computers in it like my current Large System, but I want All-In-One computers like I have in my Small System. I’ve decided anything from 19.5 inches up to 21.5 inches is acceptable. An iMac is a good option, except for the stupid permanent stands that require some serious computer disassembly to get the stand off. Frankly, the way the iMacs are assembled, there’s a significant risk of severe damage by someone not trained to work on them... like me. I can be a bit of a bull-in-a-china-shop sometimes, as I have a tendency to exert too much force when I shouldn’t.[emoji1] Someone on this forum likes to talk about how more engineering goes into expensive electronics. Maybe so, but having both an iMac and a MUCH LESS expensive Dell AIO, I can tell you, the Dells are MUCH better engineered for taking them apart and repairing them.

So I decided to get a Dell Optiplex 3030 AIO Computer to try it out. I don’t know yet if that’s gonna be the right unit for my “what’s next” system. I’ll have to test one out to see. If it works out, getting another is pretty easy, as they are readily available. Tonight I bid on a 3 year old Dell Optiplex 3030 with a quad core i5, 4GB of RAM, and 500GB disk drive. Buy It Now prices on similar units run around $250-$350. I got the one I bid on for $108.50 + shipping. I thought I was gonna get it for $83, but someone bid it up in the final seconds, which is pretty common.[emoji1] I’ll add more memory, and a different disk drive; SSD perhaps. It currently has Windows 7 Pro on it, but I’ll upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro (if you can call that an upgrade).[emoji4]

I would think that a podium style setup would look awfully top heavy with a dual monitor setup. Maybe if one was set into a sloped top panel of the podium rack and used both as screen and keyboard it might not look so ominous.

I don’t see how the dual monitor AIO setup would look much different than Taso’s dual 17” Laptop setup???

I give it a solid B.

Many good aspects, a few not so but OK if you like that presentation.

I prefer stand alone trussing, shape open for personal taste but I prefer the following:
