That NovoPro Totem Pole is a neat concept! I like that it comes with the carrying cases included with scrims. Seems to be a great value! Also, it weigh's 37.6 lbs. That is not bad at all!

i really dig this concept!!

if you are going through the trouble of fabricating a special totem.... why not have someone 3d print a plate that lays on top of the sub...touching/filling the topography on top of the sub in key areas and creating a flat base on top

Not a bad idea![emoji4] Only drawback is I would expect the posts to be attached to the base plate... like WELDED. Might be able to use some industrial glue or something though.

I saw that Novo Pro Stand on IDJNOW maybe a few months ago, and did not think much of it at the time, but did not take the time to look into it.

Now that I watched the videos, I'm digging the fact that you can pick ANY height you want the stand to be! I also like that you can mount a speaker on top of it. It doesn't have to be a light stand. Can replace tripod stands as a speaker stand too.

You could put speakers on top, scrim in white, and have a Up Light in each totem. Would be a sleek look!

It doesn't look like 15s could go on top of these stands, but maybe a pair of 12s, and certainly 10s.

I may have to look into ordering a pair of these. ...Just need to get rid of something else to make room LOL.

Any height up to 5 ft. 8 in. That’s probably high enough for a speaker, but maybe not high enough for a moving head???... Looks like @djtaso ‘s totems are taller than that.

I think that really depends on the room or if the DJ is already elevated on a stage or not as well.

It might look small in a BIG ballroom with 15+ foot ceilings.
However, in a smaller venue with 8,9 or 10 foot ceilings, it will probably look fine.

Also, if you are on a stage already, I am sure these will look great.

That is solid idea, would it be, 3D printed plate be strong enough to support the weight ?

yeah my totems are 6.5 and i wouldnt want them any less... thats the perfect height to keep it out of peoples eyes and scan the tops of their heads nicely

not sure...im not super familiar with 3d printing...or the resin used...i just figured it was the most viable option... i guess another option might be to clay cast the top and create a mold for some hard plastic ....but i doubt anyone is keen to slap clay on top of a nice sub like that...lol

I cant imagine a lot of guys would be too keen on slapping some clay on top of their subs either lol

Would love to see some pics???[emoji4] Don’t know how you get everything in a passenger car?... I down sized a LOT when I replaced my subs and speakers with RCF EXOX-8’s, but still have a pretty full minivan. I do carry quite a bit of backup gear, though.

I actually remembered to take some photos after setting up today. The dark photo with the lasers on really doesn't look like that. Apologies for iPhone blindness.

Anyway, that's the rig. I still run passive, power amps at my feet. The GoRack is only on the wireless mic's.

Nice setup! Clean, tidy, organized... Well done![emoji4]

Still don’t know how you get it all in a standard automobile???... You must be a master-packer![emoji1]

What if the sub poles were actually lighted plastic tubes???...

... and what if there were spot lights underneath the lip of the top of the podium, pointed down to light the front???

I'm not a big fan of scrims, but this might be a way to make it look nice without actually having any scrims. I think this would not be too difficult.

I think the lighted poles and the similar lighted legs ( https://www.amazon.com/Speaker-Stand-Lighted-Bright-Professional/dp/B074CJP2D9) look a bit hokey for professional events .. maybe for kids events they'd work.
