100 Best songs of all Time......
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSmjW5fNUZA

let you guys have a listen - more later on this...

Hmmm???.... 3 Guns N Roses songs in the top 100 songs of all time???... I don’t think so.[emoji1]
These lists are an exercise in and simply one youtuber's opinion (Mason Cox, tweeting as coxmason88, in this case)...nothing more or less.

Fun listen if you choose but who is Mason Cox and why would anyone else give any actual credence to such unvetted sources.

Doesn’t really matter who made the list. Unless there was some kind of objective criteria, every person’s list would likely be different. AND... it’s unlikely everyone has heard every song ever, so lists could really only include the top 100 songs you’ve heard. These things are simply for conversation, but could not be taken seriously regardless of who posted them.[emoji4]

3 different sources, so the criteria is different between them.

So the criteria is different AMONG them.[emoji1] Not sure you could come up with ANY valid objective criteria. I thought about number of weeks in the Top 40, but The Macarena would be near the top of that list. Is The Macarena really one of the best songs of all time???[emoji1]... Actually, there would be many songs on that list that were not really great songs (like "Happy" by Pharrell Williams), but were catchy in their time.

Any list is always going to be subjective. Especially when put in numerical order. Greatly influenced by the person’s location, background and who is generating a list. I definitely don’t think is meant to be anything more than what he feels is the songs. Smart people put a disclaimer upfront saying it’s what they feel Is. But even without it I think it’s understood that it’s one person‘s or organization’s thoughts not everyone’s .

The list was well done and there were some solid hits in there which most would consider very good songs. I have to say that the lists were very well done and someone spent a lot of time putting it together. It began brought back a lot of good memories.

Both businesswise and personally I have numerous different playlists of what I think is the best songs. I know I don’t think I would have the patience or the time to try to narrow it down one list. When I was servicing the corporate market I had to come up with a general playlist covering all the genres we played for all the departments we worked with. It took many hrs of discussions internally to come up with that one list. Not a fun project but something that had to be done to ensure consistency.

No, between ....

The more accurate difference is this: Between is used when naming distinct, individual items (can be 2, 3, or more) Among is used when the items are part of a group, or are not specifically named (MUST be 3 or more)

Cambridge Dictionary: We use between to refer to two things which are clearly separated. We use among to talk about things which are not clearly separated because they are part of a group or crowd or mass of objects.

Use BETWIXT... can’t go wrong with that.[emoji1]

I would think 3 "different" sources are clearly separated, but maybe that's just us New Englanders .. :)

edit .. or is that "we" New Englanders ..

I created playlists of songs by decade as well, but narrowing any of those playlists down to 100 songs would be tough. I started to create a personal list of my all-time favorites, but even that list has more than 300 songs, and it was never finished. Although I’ll admit that I haven’t had many NEW favorites to add in the last few years.[emoji4]

The best of all time is basically an opinion even using sources such as Billboard or Cashbox. I listen every week to the VJ40 on the Big 80's. I lived and played dances for much of the 80's so I know the music pretty well. Every week there is a song or two that either I haven't heard or was never more than a minor hit in this area that is top 20 there and there are songs that were hits in this area that never get played, some Canadian some non Canadian.

The ones I always use as an example are Jesse by Carly Simon it was top 10 here in Canada and in the US but it was number one locally for weeks. Another was FR David - Words. Top 10 here in Canada and number 1 locally but sat at 62 on Billboard..So the best of is really an opinion
