Overall while payment may be a little slower from businesses/organizations due to their internal accounting procedures or being asked longer payment terms (Net 60, or 90 vs my usual Net 30) I rarely have issues getting paid. For larger outfits whomever is cutting the check, it's not actually their money, so it's as not 'painful' for them to part with the money.

Now individuals are another story. Generally people pay as agreed. There was one client, good guy overall but I'd have to chase him for a measly $30 invoice *every month*. By the time he paid last month's I'd be sending a new one out. That was really aggravating. I rarely have to chase invoices for 10 times that amount. We still BS here and there but I was happy to move him to another web host.

I have come across a couple of this guy's videos in the past on youtube. He seems to be pretty knowledgeable about your field. I have to agree with him on the best approach!

The real issue is... many times radio is selling dreams and stats to mom and pops who cant afford the long game...and will never achieve brand recognition. But because of the sleezy heartless nature of SOME cough cough Sales team members... they would sell ads to anyone and quote the local car lots stats (whove ran ads for years) as the success story...

I dont wanna step on any toes Mike... but lets be fair....this radio discussion started with you waxing poetic about a sales team member with zero to little ethics. lol

TV and Radio will never be the powerhourse they once were.... The only people in my life who still listen to radio and still have cable are my parents... Sirius ...pandora... netflix....etc... will drive the final coffin nails in within 5 years....as hard as it is to stomach...

Radio also offers lower rates and better deals to "mom and pops".
(compared to national brands who run their ads thru an agency, who takes their percentage)

Just because I know of a few salespeople who called clients to pump up some interest...
doesn't mean that ALL RADIO SALESPEOPLE have "little to zero ethics".
We've all stretched the truth a little to get a gig.

Radio salespeople have income based on sales quotas.
Which means they cannot afford to rip off their clients.
The goal is to make them regular advertisers, so the client will continue to pay their commission year after year.
If the first flight of ads doesn't work, or if the sales rep cheats them....
they go away and never return.
There are only so many local clients for a sales rep to sell to.
It's not like a car salesman, who can screw you and then move on to another victim.

Of course radio is dying.
It's been that way for almost 20 years.
Radio will survive, especially when all of these radio-owning monster corporations all go bankrupt,
and ownership goes back to "mom and pop" sized business.
And TV is not dying.
The WAY WE WATCH it dying.
