I read the thread talking about storing gear in the cold. My question is a bit different. What about playing in colder environments. Just for fun I thought about mixing on my front porch during Beggar's Night...Some fun songs for kids and the adults. However, the temp took a turn this week and instead of typically Fall weather, we dove right into winter and the temp look like they may be close to 32 degrees. Now, I might punt the whole idea at this point because...well, who wants to put in all the work to setup just to freeze your tail off, but it got me thinking about whether using lights (that aren't designated for outdoor use) or things like the ADJ Fog Fury Jett or QSC speakers would be adversely affected by such colder temps? I've always used them during hot days (making sure that they were in the shade and not direct sun) but have never operated gear in the cold weather. Thoughts?
