This thread is ONLY for serious talk about vinyl. You may laugh about it in the fodder section, but this is for those who are seriously interested in vinyl.

Vinyl.

count me in... what are some good records to invest in on samples for the novice scratcher such as me.

Just for the RECORD...I don't know about this that you ask.

I'm posting this because I don't want you to think that I don't care.

Somebody, help this guy!

:)

so you just play vinyl you don't scratch and do tricks?

limited scratching (baby scratching) and limited tricks (hands on sampling, reverse spins, turning off the table to let a song die, etc....)

Vinyl is cool at an old bar job the owners had crates of 70 & 80's records. My boss taught me how to use the turntables. Being 16 at the time, I'd only seen my father use one when I was younger.

Make a long story short: Even though I had all the songs on CD, I'd do my 70's and 80's sets on the turntables. It became like an attaction the customer we see me thumbing through the milkcrates and say get ready he's moving over to fun stuff.

I did limited stuff, mostly screwed around with the pitch a few minor scatches, but those were and still are my favorite times spinnin'

I can understand why Vinylopolus loves vinyl so much. :)
