Cs-800 / cs-400 & m3000
FH-1 s where a great live rig in the day.
FH-1 bass bins made nice end tables in my living room. Just a little bit of black shoe polish made the cabs look like new again.
Used the M3000 on 4 monitors at a 2 ohm load.
Later I used the CS-400 for my dj rig.

No doubt in my mind..I don't miss the weight
At one point I ran a triamped system Peavey SP2a’s over Peavey RBS1 double 15 subs, Peavey M2600 for highs, Peavey CS 800 for mids and a Peavey CS 1200 on sub duty all amps and processing in one old school 3/4 marine grade plywood rack I bet that rack was 300 pounds.

We ran all peavey that’s what was available locally in small town rural America in the early 80’s

Here it was Traynor/Yorkville and eventually Peavey. The Traynor stuff was pretty much indestructible too

First gear I used were Traynor Columns a Bogan Amp and a turntable coffin. I don't remember it being real heavy but very awkward1731212761833.png

The stuff they made back then mostly was solid gear made to last a very long time. I'll bet if you tested that stuff out it would still work like it's supposed to. I forget the name of the amp and preamp I used when I first started. It worked great for what I was doing. I bought I believe 4 speakers on wheels I bought in a store in downtown Newark. NJ. They were no name speakers but they worked.

It's mind blowing to me the stuff I use to DJ with today. Who knew that back in the day a DJ would be using active speakers with a controller and computer.

When I first got started you had to use turntables to DJ with and you had to physically go to a store to buy records to use to DJ with.

That stuff you showed in the pictures was top of the line gear at the time. I forget a certain amp that was very expensive at the time but was top of the line. It was very expensive. If you had one of those you had to have a lot of money to buy one.

My first columns where silvertones. Yes sears.
6 six inch ovals in each one.
Every Friday night was teen night dance at the local armory.

Those Peavy's would not die. When I first started at the club where I had a residency had 2 of them running 2 tops and 2 subs. You could fry and egg on them, they got so hot.
They where also made in the US back in the day. Never had a thought of one of those amp failing me.bought my first cs400 used and still working when I sold the amp 16 years later.

Not my system but I did have 4 of the 45x60 JBL cabs loaded with EV SRO's , two for bass , two for mids & two long throw horns with Ev drivers.
State of the art long ago.
