The Village People are publicly complaining that Donald Trump was still using their song as a stage exit, again as he departed the White House.

They acknowledge that: " We hope to spearhead a change in copyright law that will give artists and publishers more control over who can and cannot use our music in the public space. Currently there is no limit to blanket licensing."

Good luck with that. Another example self-righteous ignorance. The law that allows Trump to play these publicly released recordings is the same law - that guards their right to perform, record, and publish it.

Not so Macho.... Man!

The Village People are more of a Village Person these days ...

I can understand that they don’t want their image tarnished or the integrity of their music compromised 😁

What the hell are you talking about and why mention me in this thread? The group Village People are long gone and some of them are dead or did you know that?

Someone still owns the rights to the music

Time will tell if "Macho Man" (as it pertains to music) gets pursued for trademark infringement. The group is actively (as in "now") pursuing legal action against use of their songs (mainly Donald Trump) .. but hey .. maybe you're next .. :)

You're funny because people have said I need to play that song Macho Man. I don't play that song because that's not where I got the name Macho Man. I was standing on a stage and didn't realize the best dressed contest was over. Lol.
