My guess is there are differences in the profile definitions (most likely no overall standard employed) and how they map to the internal functions of the app.

There's a new firmware and hardware manager ....
Thanks much for the link, but I think we should all be demanding proper technical documentation from LR/myDMX Go as well. Click on the "Online Manuals" menu option and the app just DIES. An anonymous user forum on the manufacturer's marketing site is NOT an acceptable level of customer support for a technically challenging product like this. It is appalling that this customer video is the ONLY documention for Hardware Manager that I've found:

It all has to be sorted out ... we shouldn't also be on Revision 0.05 for a released product (numbers less than 1 are for pre-releases), and there should be some basic info on the Profile Builder.

The last FW update - which fixed the can't connect issue - was .06 ... figure that one out.
I listed what the verbiage said on the Facebook page .. I haven't opened the package .. maybe it's .07

Nope, the link you put is .05.
Yea .. I opened it .. not sure where the .06 I have is ... and why it's still not over 1.0

I had .06 - which I'm guessing was the last fw update that fixed the unable to connect issues - (according to the hardware manager, .06 was on the device). This 'version' is .05
