So, I ordered a pair of small Chinese moving heads...
and they arrived yesterday.
So last night, I set one up in the garage to test it out with the LightRider app.
I set up a cloud account, and sure enough...I found the light I own in the fixtures menu.
Only problem is....
LightRider has NOT recognized my Sushi interface.
I hit "refresh" a few times...
played with the little button on the Sushi...
unplugged and re-plugged it...
re-started the app....

NOTHING!

I though it was supposed to recognize the interface automatically.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Did you do all this?

Did you do all this?

Actually, I was talking to Steve on the phone about it...
thought maybe it was the cable.

Turns out, the only thing I didn't do was register the Sushi...
which I will do tonight.

I've watched a lot of videos about this, and never saw that little tid-bit until I watched all of that video you posted.

Wow, Chris, you weren't kidding about easy! It took me about 15 minutes to get the app downloaded (Kindle Fire Hd8), wifi connected and 2 of my movers addressed. Then they just started working! I've only spent about 30 minutes with the software and already I'd use it on a gig. VERY effective and very user friendly. I'm planning to try and configure it to drive my colorstrip minis (mounted over the movers) and my 9X18 uplights. This is going to be interesting. Thank you for the bump on this product.

Music to my ears Rick!! It truly reinvents the wheel in the realm of dmx thats for sure!! I definitely recommend utilizing the "projects" option once you get all your fixtures loaded in...create a couple different projects for each of your light set ups....maybe LARGE LIGHT SET UP... then SMALL light set up... that way you can have different shows for different needs...

Also...i think you are going to dig what it does with those color strips... the "sparkle" and "night rider" color options work fantastic with the pixel mappable fixtures

ENJOY!!

So i just finished 40 presets.... 8 slow... 12 high energy.... 20 basic

ive got 10 left and im pretty much running out of unique color combos and ideas...lol... normally id do 10 or so strobe sequences...but the strobe button is so convenient that theres no real need to make strobe sequences when they can all be triggered to strobe so easily

im delighted to have the ability to trigger any scene i want at any time... the thing i hated about the obey 70 was that in order to get to a scene...i had to scroll through all the presets one by one to get to a specific scene i wanted... i made it work...but it was never ideal

Speaking of the strobe button, does it strobe whatever color the lights are on at the time of pressing the button or do you preprogram red strobe, blue strobe, etc????

it strobes the exact colors that are happening live... very cool

now... there are a couple other buttons... the blinder (pair of sunglasses) and the build up (exclamation mark) ...both of those go all white...and when u release them go back to whatever was happening live

Some great features!

im putting it through its paces this morning... ive got it on a slow setting....gobo slowly sweeping the room....something id set it at for dinner music....gonna let that run for a couple hours... then run through fast sets for a couple hours....gotta make sure she can stay up and running for a show and not peter out on me

If you've signed into the cloud, aren't projects backed up there? And if you sign into another unit with the same cloud info, might they be available? The cloud side seems to have VERY little info.

The video i found was a year old and was for light rider...and it said that at that time the cloud would save any fixture profiles you had made...and that they were hoping to have a project sync option within the next year.....cant find any updates on that yet

Okay gang, I'm getting close. For testing, I have my MYDMX GO interface connected via hardwire to one of my light trees. I have the movers on address #20 and #40 with the Chauvet Colorstrip mini on address #160. In addition, I've dropped a Donner transmitter at the end of the chain (colorstrip) and have it transmitting to one of my 9X18 chinese uplights at address #1. It's working, but I don't know what fixture profile to use for the 9X18. Does anybody know what profile they might match up to? In the picture, you can see two different colors on the ceiling with the 9X18 using a chauvet par profile (don't remember which one). Here's a pic:

Oh yea, one little gotcha. When you add fixtures, it needs to connect thru the internet. That means you have to go back to the OS and change wifi connections, off the mydmx interface to your home wifi (internet enabled). You have to remember to switch it back, after the profile has downloaded. Not a biggie but it did catch me a couple of times. All I can say, after I get this profile thing licked, it's going to be a MAJOR step forward in presentation. I'm thinking I may even add my Martin Acrobats or Revos into the mix. This is just too cool.

Yeah luckily we will probably never need to add a fixture in the middle of a gig... so it shouldnt be too bad.

They have such a huge list of generics...i bet its in there... do u have the manual?

hey Rick....quick question....how are you getting such even numbers for your dmx adresses...are u putting them in manually? or do those fixtures have 20 channel mode?

No. I've reached out to the manufacturer for assistance. I've tried a bunch of generics already. Will keep poking.
