"Modified sine wave" means that the AC waveform is highly distorted (a square wave instead of a sine wave). Such inverters can generate a boat load of RF interference. In other words, I would worry about how this might interfere with wireless systems. You would definitely want to run a test before committing it to use at a gig.

Keep in mind that the largest Ryobi 18V battery has a capacity of 9 amp-hours. In ideal conditions this can supply 162 watts (9x18) for 1 hour or 81 watts for 2 hours. In other words, it can't provide much power for very long. This is definitely not something I would use with a speaker. Also note, the 9 AH battery is relatively new. Previously, their max battery size was 4 AH with many tools sold with even smaller batteries.

The deal is ONLY with their 3aH batteries, so limited even further.

all good points. I saw the video on DJTV and thought of some people here. They seemed to get over an hr of use, and with two batteries, it would be a great way to make any speaker wireless for 1-2 hours.

I am sticking with my Goal Zero Yeti products.

Well, I will fess up. I went ahead and purchased the Ryobi setup from the original post. For ceremonies I have a Marantz Rover (Marantz Professional - Voice Rover - (https://www.marantzpro.com/products/view/voice-rover)) that handles most size crowds (for me at least). The flaw with the Rover is it's microphone range in short "it sucks"; the handheld is decent; but the body pack is useless if covered by anything at a distance of 10 ft. So I just needed something to power a wireless mic receiver. I got the battery and inverter in today. hooked everything up and it ran just fine. I was concerned about RF interference since it was not pure sine; but had no issues. Since most ceremonies are 30 minutes or less and the wireless mic receiver pulls less than .15 amps... I should be good to go

Actually used the setup described in my last post on this thread yesterday in an actual outdoor wedding ceremony. How absolutely no issues whatsoever I was setup about 45 - 50 from the officiant. Used the following receiver GTD Audio 2Ch UHF Handheld Lavalier Wireless Microphone System U-35HL - GTD Audio - (https://gtdaudio.net/gtd-audio-2ch-uhf-handheld-lavalier-wireless-microphone-system-u-35hl.html) worked out well. Had the officiant using the lavalier and a bridesmaid used the handheld to read a poem for the bride and groom during the ceremony.

I have used a 40 Volt 4ah battery from my lawn and garden tools with an inverter to run a powered 8" alto speaker.
Have tested it for up to 5 hours at a near clipping level. (Plenty loud for ceremony)

I also use another set to run the mixer and mics. The only cable is the single XLR to the speaker. I run my output in mono so the 1 speaker works well.
Noo problems so far.
