Van Wrap? Magnets? Decals? Anyone?

Good call.
I remember when I switched to Geico (for a short while)...
I was using my daily driver to move gear to a gig.
They specifically stated that if my van had equipment in it,
it was considered a commercial vehicle...
and would not be covered if I was in an accident while hauling gear!
In South Dakota if you are carrying more than I think it's 400# of equipment you are commercial and should have commercial registration. We had a van weighed once as a multiop. As for insurance, if you don't claim carrying business equipment you probably won't be covered if they catch wind of it (if not registered and insured as a commercial vehicle)

Yeah....this is actually considered a commercial vehicle whether i like it or not...atleast according to my insurance agent... premiums doubled from Whispers car...simply due to it only having the 2 seats.

Thanks for all the fantastic advice! im quite torn at the moment... trying not to make any more rash decisions like the magnets...lol....

I got my van registered passenger by adding parkway windows & brackets for a rear seat, The rear door glass came directly from the factory. Everything was handled through the dealer. Your van is very small so I not sure that is possible but you can ask. I had a after market middle front seat put in so you never know. How having signage effects the way you have to register, commercial or Passenger. Here I believe if you have signage you are considered commercial

I used to have my back and side back windows done in a van I had. Had very good luck booking gigs from it and no trouble with theft. I did have one break in on an unmarked van but that was my own dumb fault I left it unlocked by mistake

yeah...my old marked van from years back was an earner and never had any issues with theft... also bare in mind i dont live in a metropolis... a bit closer to Mayberry... so though crime exists...we have the infrastructure that allows most residential areas are well policed... i live a block from state police headquarters and most criminals walk at a steady pace through our street... it could definitely happen though... i have no back or side windows in the back ...which is a plus...

im still deciding...but a magnet in the rear window that could be removed seems to be my best route

Because of the look of the van, any criminal worth his salt
would know it is a commercial vehicle, and MAY have something valuable in it.
But since they cannot see anything inside,
they would probably* not take the chance of breaking in it....
only to find out it's filled with garbage, or with nothing at all.

* I am not a thief, so I do not claim to know how a criminal thinks. Your mileage may vary

You are very correct...not having windows that are easily broken out, and not having items in clear sight are a huge deterrent. A wall between the front and cargo areas would further that security. People don't *usually* (most often) work that hard...they want easier targets.

So you are saying that Walls Work, and it's a good idea to build them for security, and to help keep people from doing something illegal like illegally trespassing onto property that they don't belong on. Totally makes sense! :D

Actually what she said was that for the smash and grab crook, it would generally make them want an easier target - this in no way guarantees that your vehicle would not be broken into or stolen - and once stolen, they have all the time in the world to work on it (much like an unmanned piece of wall - which has already been done by the way). If there are no easier or as lucrative targets - or if they want that specific vehicle, then guess who's vehicle is getting broken into and/or stolen. The prepared crook can take your vehicle in less than 3 minutes (and a similar ratio applies to the wall).

Vehicle security is very different from border security. With vehicle security, you want to put valuable things out of sight - the crooks want you to leave it out. With border security, you want to see the threat - they want to hide.

Finally, walls do work - and no one ever said they don't - however, they do not work alone nor are they a replacement for other things that could potentially work better. They also don't stop problems from coming in when you allow those problems to come in through the front door. Man every mile of the border with an armed guard and you'll see illegal border crossing in that physical area significantly slow down. It will not stop anything coming in the front door (and there's ALOT more to be concerned about here).

How good is that vehicle wall if the back doors are unlocked?

Yes, walls work. Even better is parking your locked and loaded and security-system'd vehicle inside your LOCKED shop or garage.

lol...only on this forum could a thread about van wraps turn into a pseudo subliminal political debate
You give to much credit to the exchanges in these forums.

Rarely does anything rise to the level of an actual debate (an argument about (a subject), especially in a formal manner).

Certainly if debate is nothing more than a gaggle of opinionated individuals (self included) exchanging meaningless banter with little if any measurable benefit, then debate away! LOL
