I am ordering new up lights. My only question I need to answer for myself is, order them in the white casing, or the black casing.

All of my current up lights are in black. Any benefit to getting them in white over black? Is White casing seen as better looking for weddings?

if all your gear was in white....this would be an easy answer.... but i personally think its tacky when its a mix of white and black gear together (NO BOBCAT IM NOT A RACIST LOL)...if the lions share of your stuff is black...black is the answer.

Any issues with your chinese LED Lights after the months of use you have put on them? I am about to place my order with Both Lighting.
You should place an order with either or .. not Both ...

Placed an order with both of them! :)

We will see how fast this order comes in! Hopefully DHL isn't shipping this via BOAT to me.

I was quoted about 9 to 10 days. 4 days to build and test, and 5 to 6 days shipping. I don't need them until 9/28.

So, I placed the order late Wednesday night. I received a text message this morning from DHL that says that the package will be delivered on Tuesday. If that is the case, this is very impressive for shipping from China. I ordered late Wednesday night. 6 Days. Even if it is 7 or 8, that is still fast. I have waited more than 8 days for items from Ebay to be shipped to my door in the past.

The lights came in today. They wrapped the boxes extremely well in clear wrap, and tape. The lights came a whole day early. Kinda can't believe they shipped from China in 4 days.

they all work? ive heard its a good idea to pop the top and make sure no tiny screws have fallen into the mother board

So far I have plugged 6 of them in, and those 6 work perfectly for basic static colors. I went through the pre set 32 colors on each one. I have them charging now. The menu screen is not exactly the same as Rainbow Lights, but they are color screens. These might have a wider beam angle than the Rainbow ones. They seem wider in my basement. They seem just as bright.

One thing I liked is that these came with a clear, thin bag that you can put over the light. I suspect the bag is for protecting the light when in use outside in case it rains. The Rainbow lights did not come with them. The bag could also be used for extra protection for transport I suppose as well. It fits nice and snug right over the light. They were pre set with wireless connectivity already on out of the box as well.

Hey Ricky,
Have you noticed if the price on the chinese lights has gone up at all from since you first considered buying them? I know you've been looking at them for a while. I wondered if there'd be a price impact due to all of this trade war stuff with China.
I know the ones I linked went down almost $20 in the past 3 months.

And those look exactly like the ones for Both Lighting. I was looking at the pics from that link. It seemed odd though. I was looking for the pic showing the dmx in-out and you can see a power on-off button on the same side of the fixture. That fixture had no yokes. it sat flat on the floor. Then in the pic next to it, they have one with yokes and what appears to be a power "on-off button" on the side and a vent for the fan...but no dmx in-out. Those are the black fixtures. Then the white fixtures show an antenna that sticks out with a fan vent on the side...but no "power on-off switch". Makes me wonder if these are the same fixtures?? They all seem to be different.

The yokes are removeable. The ones I posted are "similar" to the Both ones .. you can tell the LCD panel is in a slightly different spot. Yes, the housings are slightly different, but I'll guess they use the same schematics .. maybe slightly different components between the various manufactures. On all I've seen, they have DMX in/out. Some have a wireless on/off in addition to the main on/off. From the seller for the link I posted, they have 3 versions of the same light:
no wireless, no wifi, IR, no battery: 6*18W RGBWAUV 6 in 1 IR Remote Control Flat Led Par Light 1pc Free Shipping | eBay - (https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-18W-RGBWAUV-6-in-1-IR-Remote-Control-Flat-Led-Par-Light-1pc-Free-Shipping/252412071457?epid=1072666250&hash=item3ac4ee8e21:g:RG8AAOSwOVpXURqk)

The WiFi one has the color LCD screen .. the others have the simpler numeric screen. Not really sure I need WiFI, which lets you control the light from an app.

Interesting! Yeah, wouldn't need wi-fi. So that begs the question. If you're just using a Donner Dongle in the DMX-in...do you even need the "wireless" fixture. I'm assuming that's the one with the built in antenna. Another question maybe you can answer (or anyone for that matter). If you use a mixture of Donner Dongles and these chinese fixtures that have a built in antenna for wireless, can you even do that (i.e. mix and match antennas like that)?
