Filled the pool with water this week I didn't even take a pic :)

I did attend a protest with my daughter..She wanted to go more than I did I went just in case it got ugly but they were giving away FREE masks :). The letters started to fall off so I pulled off the E and asked if anyone would like to buy a vowel :)

Those don't say "Silenced" .. they say "SILE NCED" .. I'm guessing Sile is some local Nove Scotian and probably needs pain relievers and doesn't know how to spell NSAID.

More home improvement. Having the roof replaced today. Inspector Toby keeping an eye on things.

Actually, my insurance on my car is only $550 for the year. It's my wife's car that's dragging us down. Her's is $650.
We also get discounts from the doohickey things they just sent us to install so they can prove we drive like old people😄

If I went that route, I'd be paying triple based on how I drive ...

I will chime back in and say this. Things were made much different than they are today. Things say 30-40 years ago were made to last a long time. That TV was well over 15 years old. Nowadays things are not made to last that long in most cases. They have to keep money circulating. Making things to last as long as that TV did cost them money because that means no need to spend money on a new TV or other item in the future or near future because the item will last well over 10 years easily.

They also cost alot more and were built in North America. Consumers wanted cheaper products and this is what you get. Like the DJ business you rarely get more than you pay for

Another thing to look at is with TVs the resolution and quality of the picture has been going up greatly. Although not everyone can see the difference or care. 20/30 years ago TVs had a VHS Quality picture, something barely Watchable except in the kitchen when you compared it to current 4K TVs. Yes, those picture tube TV did last, I don’t remember one breaking. I used to give them away now, no one wants one and you can’t throw them.

You're right. You can't give one away or pay someone to come and get it to use for themselves. Just to heavy to lift even though they were built to last for many years.

I remember many years ago seeing a TV that was built into a cabinet that was top of the line at that time. The price was 4k for that TV. If I could have afforded it I would have easily bought it.

As far as the picture goes as long as I can see the colors in the picture that's all that matters to me. I don't need a HD 4k TV. For what. It's not that serious spending that much money. What companies love to do is make you think you have to have something. The thing is separating a want from a need. Somethings you want you may not need. It's up to you how bad you want a thing. Some will go broke to get something they want.
