UGH I have to buy a new TV today.

I bought a Cross ball point pen last week. It just came today. It’s just a simple satin black and gold pen. I lost one somehow. Don’t know how because I don’t go anywhere, but I lost it nevertheless. I think I lose one every 5-6 years. I ALWAYS carry a pen in my shirt pocket, so naturally I have a spare, but this one now becomes my new spare. I thought this was important to share. I don’t know why.😊
Just wanted to update this since I know ya’ll have been worried about it... I FOUND MY MISSING PEN. It was under some papers on the kitchen counter. So now I have 3, including the one I just bought, but never removed from the box. I guess I could send it back, but I think I’ll just ponder on it for several days while I’m sheltering in place.😂

I still have one sort of like this at my mothers. I'm willing to sell it to you but I think it's a 4 inch screen ;)

Seeing that one reminds me of the TVs when I was a kid. We had a TV that was a big console furniture style that the screen was in the middle and the speakers were on both sides. There was no remote control. You had to walk up to the TV to change the channels and for those TVs with antennas built into the TV, if the antenna broke you didn't buy another TV, you used a wired hanger as an antenna on the TV.

Another thing that some have no clue about. At one time there was no cable TV and no 24 hour TV. A TV channel went off at a certain time and didn't return till if I remember correctly 6am. So hours went by before you could watch TV again. There was music that would come on signaling the TV channel was cutting off leaving you with a stupid picture to watch and a loud irritating noise till the channel came back on. Can someone please tell me the name of that song with the music they played when a TV channel was going off? I want that song to play when an event is over and time to stop playing music.

Many played the Star Spangled Banner, both to close the night and open the day. And some of us didn't get cable until the 80s .. just wasn't an option in the rural suburbs.

The one I'm thinking of was not the Star Spangled Banner. It was another one that when you heard it you knew TV was going off. It would get played at 1am and no more TV till in the morning.

Thanks Steve. The one I had in mind only had music. No talking at all. I will try to look it up. Wish me luck. A DJ I know had a cute way to end an event. The old Bugs Bunny one. That's all folks with the music in it. I loved that. That was my first time hearing that an event.

Mixy, Have you been living under a rock??

OMG but I saw a DJ once who introduced himself and in the background was that song that the Chicago Bulls use. Then he did the wedding party intros over "Get Ready For This" except at the beginning it said LET'S GET READY TO RRRRRRRRRRRUMBLE!

He was AWESOME!

Put together a new fire pit table for the patio today

Installed a light in the pool. It's turning into a little resort here in the backyard.
