Actually, it's funny you mention that, bc when you speak to them that's the exact reason they use for their strictness. The problem is they make it virtually impossible to even obtain it yourself, and they don't make it public for couples or other dj's to know in advance of the event. They essentially want you to use one of their 7 guys in the region. So yeah while in NJ you can have the effect for $500 or so for 2 units... 2 units in New England will run you an easy $2000. Venues also don't allow dancing on the clouds there. And they wonder why the wedding industry in NJ/NYC is so far ahead lolIt makes sense that New England would be tough on this stuff. In 2003, 100 people died at a Great White concert after their pyro effects they used set the club in Rhode Island on fire.
