This weekends wedding reception was the most expensive I've ever heard of.

I get these news feeds all the time on my phone. I normally don't look at them. I looked at this one it blew my mind until I found who the parents were. This wedding reception cost 2 million dollars. I was blown away. The bride was 25 and the groom was 30. It was a private Muslim ceremony. It was the parents oldest daughter who got married. The parents were Bill Gates and his wife. That explained the 2 million dollar wedding reception. He's a billionaire. So that didn't hurt his bank account at all. I wonder what they had for that reception that cost 2 million dollars? I wish we were the entertainment. I can just imagine what they got paid. I wonder what he gave them for a wedding present besides the reception.

She required everyone to be vaccinated, so you were out of contention for being the entertainment.

She chose Coldplay as the entertainment instead

I didn't think of that and you're right. Now I wonder how many people attended that wedding and how did they know if someone had taken the vaccine? Everybody attending the wedding had to show their vaccine card?

300. Yes, show their card AND take a test to show they don't currently have it

To some, 2 million is like $2 to most of us. It's nothing more than a number. Money spent doesn't always equal a good and/or memorable time. I'm guessing if you met a lot of those guests, you'd be glad you weren't the entertainment. LOL. Maybe not... I'm profiling... and that's wrong... lol.... but give me a reception of 200 folks at the local hall who paid 1500 of their hard earned money over Bill Gates' daughter any day. :p

It must have been a hard choice and a big disappointment but rules are rules ;)

Just this morning I was talking to my neighbor who has done a lot of private security (ex-SWAT and marine). I was recommending a restaurant to take his wife to. He had worked there once over 10 years ago when his client (A-list musician) married another A-list musician at that venue. The rooms/bungalows at this place go for $3K - $5K per night. They put him up for the night (but he did have to share his room). Just the cost of his room was above the cost of the average DJ in the area. Multiply that out by the rooms for all the other private details, regular security and extra police and you start getting well into 5 figure territory just for the security for the day. Paparazzi were offering him $5K just to be let in. He was being paid well enough to turn that down. BTW, this guy also had the pleasure once of telling Paris Hilton she was not allowed to enter some event after she tried to use her fame to jump the line.

And yet you fail to charge a decent rate for your services, when these type of clients exist
I couldn't have done the event and I'm sorry I mentioned it and that is you had to be vaccinated to be a part of that wedding. Oh I should have known that because Bill Gates is involved in this.

You do realize almost everywhere wants proof of vaccination now?

My October 30th bride emailed me like 12 days ago asking if I was vaccinated, and that they are requiring all of their guests, and vendors/staff to be vaccinated. I got vaccinated back in May, but I really do wonder if any of their vendors were not vaccinated, and finding that out just 3 weeks before the wedding that they need to be. What if I wasn't vaccinated? Would they cancel their agreement, lose the deposit over it, and go try to find another DJ 3 weeks out? I suppose they would if they are determined to make sure everyone at their wedding is vaccinated. I also wonder if the caterer would be dishonest and say that all of their staff members working the event are vaccinated, but there just might be a staff member or two working the event who isn't. .I mean finding good help and maintaining a good staff is hard these days. Most employers are short staffed in one way or another right now...How would the caterer even know unless they require proof of vaccination from all of their employees to work with them?

Not in NJ... he's lucky. And it doesn't seem like he goes to NYC at all.

I wasn't aware of that. Here in NS you need to be double vaxxed and carry proof to get in most places like theatres or concert venues

How would the caterer even know unless they require proof of vaccination from all of their employees to work with them?

Up here you need to show proof. I had to email head office with my Vax card and 95% I am in the studio alone

Is this what the couple is requiring or the venue?
