The Sirius XM Classic Rock top 1000

It's on channel 30 on loop. I've been listening on and off for days and Thursday night I heard the top 10. Not a lot of surprises except for the Beatles - A Day In The Life was number 2 or 3

Any guesses on number one?

Stairway...A little disappointing but not surprising. I like the song but it was never released as a single and it's seriously overplayed at EVERY Classic Rock station

Yes it is. It's such a big genre of music. Hard to pick a single #1. I would not agree with stairway being #1. I don't think there is a true #1 in Rock N Roll songs.

Yeah it's hard to pick...The last countdown we did Sweet Emotion was number one..If you want to be real disappointed I'll tell you how we pick it LOL

Here is the second last one we did..Satisfaction was number one on this one...Keep in mind we have to play 35% Canadian Content

I love Sweet Emotion, but not sure I'd put it higher than maybe 20-30.

Number one was always a battle between Stairway and Freebird.
Haven't heard Freebird in months!

I forget where Freebird was on the Sirius countdown but I don't believe it made the top 50

The Hip and Trooper aren't bad but on Canadian Classic Rock stations they are wayyyyyy too overplayed

I just can't see them in any top 100 .. I guess if you HAVE to play them maybe. April Wine as well .. good band .. just not Top 100 all time.

Yeah that 35% Cancon rule make it difficult on a daily basis but especially difficult in a countdown

I suppose if the countdown is voted on and not based on plays it works out.

I'm guessing it will be tough to find prior to the naming of the top 10.

The countdown is on replay now the original run ended last Thursday
