Hi to all,

I am DJ Tiz from South Carolina- USA and I have been DJing for roughly 15 years. I work full time as a Project Controls Engineer and moonlight as a DJ. I spend most of my time DJing wedding receptions along with other private and corporate functions. During the last 15 years I spent 4 of those DJing full time while attending college. During the college stent I DJed everything from local bars and clubs, to 13 year old birthday parties to even Karaoke night. For the past 7 years I have mainly focused on weddings, corporate and school functions. I also DJ for local dance clubs on the east coast called Carolina Shag clubs. Its a variation of a swing dance for those of you not familiar.

I am a one man show owning and operating all equipment. My favorite and go to brands are Electro Voice, Mackie, Pioneer, Stanton, Chauvet, American DJ, and Denon.

My current setup includes:
EV and Mackie mains and subs (varies depending on venue size)(all powered)
Pioneer DDJ-1000
Pioneer DDJ-SX (now retired to a backup) ADJ VMS4 (long time retired)
Stanton 92s (retired SL1210MK5s) needed Key Lock for true analog without DVS use.
VirtualDJ 2018 Pro Infinity [not cracked] (retired Serato Scratch Live) (Retired Serato DJ) (Retired PCDJ DEX)

Chauvet 4BAR Flex
Chauvet 4BAR T-USB Flex
2 - ADJ Inno Pocket Scan
1- ADJ Reflex
1- Chauvet Mini Kinta IRC
1- ADJ Gobo IRC
1- ADJ Micro Hypnotic Laser
1 - Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2D
2- Mini Moving Head Spots 15w (generic ebay grab)
16-Chauvet LED Rain 38C uplights

Freestyler DMX (learning as I go)
Enntec Open DMX

Outside of DJing I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 kids (4 and 14). We enjoy camping and boating in our free time.

I look forward to chatting, contributing and learning from all of you.
Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard the mighty ship ODJT - the best cruisin' DJ forum in the world! Which EV's and Mackie's are you running?

PS: We have nothing to do with cruises - other than some of our members go on them for vacation.

Welcome aboard.

Hi everyone, my name is Mike. I've been into Music since forever, however never a DJ. My son has recently been showing an interest in mixing up music, scratching, special effects, etc. I bought him a few setups from some local DJs. Basically old equipment they don't use anymore - however still really good stuff. Perfect for learning if you ask me.
Joining this community to search for tips and to help him on his journey - even if it doesn't lead anywhere it's really great stuff to learn.

Welcome ... and remember, there are no stupid questions (well, I guess there are some .. won't be hard to find them ...)

I'm a live sound tech who gigs at venues in the SF Bay Area. I wouldn't call myself a DJ (because I've seen real DJ's work up close), but I'm often called on to spin intro music while helping performers set up. I've been running live sound for over 30 years and have worked in all genres with digital as well as analog consoles, wireless mics, and IEM's. I've recently been getting into DMX stage lighting and put together a portable MyDMX Go system, hanging lights on my speaker stands to avoid building a truss. I'm interested in hearing DJ's perspective on sound production and gear, and happy to share my first hand experience with live sound systems.
