I ordered a Chauvet light stand last week from Ebay. Delivery was to be Thursday. It came today. When I get back home I will set it up in the basement to check it out. It cost me almost $40. If I like it I will be ordering another one. Got to find out how much weight it can hold.

Reason its hot garbage.... it is attached to the top of the stand with one wing nut... leaving it with a perpetual wiggle... its also a smaller diameter than most speaker stands...let alone light stands...it more akin to a mic stand in diameter.....its flimsy...

The crossbar is also cube shaped instead of round...eliminating O clamps..

Mix is having custom upholstered clamps made ..

I have to tell this. I've never had to contact a seller on Ebay before. I had to this time because the piece to connect the T-bar to the light stand is missing. I get that and things should be fine. It's a decent stand for what I paid. I know Chris you probably weren't happy that it doesn't open wider. I got to check it.

By "PIECE" what do you mean? all there is is a bolt end and a wing nut... is the bolt end missing?

one of many flaws... but the biggest being the wiggle you will experience anytime that wingnut that holds the t bar in place loosens a bit...which will happen regularly....

you have made a mistake...im telling you... If you ever heed any advice on this forum...do it now...RETURN THIS ITEM!

Thanks and will do.

I went to the return section and I guess I got to wait till it comes up online on Ebay for a return. Other items I want to keep showed up. Now Chris what would you suggest I buy sir?

Why wouldn't you just go to KPODJ and check them all out, and then figure out which one gives you the best stability for the price you're looking to spend?

Oh right, that would be... logical.

go support local business... touch it...rub it...get to know it... lol

The last time he did that, he ended up in the back of a van that wasn't his.

I decided to order the one Chris suggested. Not going to KPODJ today and keep money in my pocket. Just got to set this one up for a return. Never returned anything I bought from Ebay.

Lol you'll pay more than you actually bought the item for, so in the end you'll be in the negative with nothing to show for it. You're better off buying the part that's missing and having an extra.
Chris said there is no extra part to it. It's a way you have to setup the T-bar to get it to stay and it's not really that secure. It's Ok. I didn't spend a lot of money so it's nothing major.

Leave it to Mix to turn the saying "Buy Once, Cry Once" into "Buy Once, post about it, complain about it, keep it, never use it, buy another but never ever cry".
