I got the Denon DN MC 6000 today. It came with the power cord, USB cord and just got to see if the CD rom came with it for the drivers. All together I paid $213.25 from Ebay. The price includes the tax, shipping was free. I have to check it out later. I'm excited. I plugged it up and it came on. Hopefully the CD came with it so I don't have to go online to get the drivers. I'm also excited because I just picked up a job for Saturday the 24th. Wish me well with the controller. I will post a picture later. Got to get on a conference call.

I think the audio drivers are the same, but the control mapping files are different. Will make it sticky to switch over in a hot backup scenario.

My friend had the 6000 disk for the drivers. I guess I have to get my partner to configure the controller to VDJ 8.

By the time this pandemic is over - DJing will no longer look the way it once did. I would caution anyone on buying hardware based on how you are accustomed to doing things, or even worse - buying models that are older than what you currently have.

Equipment prices on systems in common demand are also going up as a result of reduced manufacturing. Some key items have already doubled in price - even for used gear. An item I bought last year for $800 now sells used for $1,400 (used) and $2,200 (new.) If you find a high quality piece of DJ gear at a price that seems like a steal, check to see what volume of that item is on the market. You could easily be buying atop it's curve to obsolescence.

Someone has too buy our out dated equipment. Generally it's someone just starting out or is into antique's or has a hole in their pocket & spending money that they don't have to burn

Mix prefers being a contrarian ...

Just setup the backup controller and it has serious issues. The cross fader doesn't work properly and one of the channels isn't working properly either. I will see later today what can be done. Certainly not happy at all.

Really? Issues on a 10+ year old piece of gear that's probably been tossed into the back of a vehicle a hundred times? No ...

I decided to see how much would it cost to fix before trashing it. I called Sin A Rama Sound and they aren't fixing boards right now. I looked on line and found a place in South Hackinsack that fixes DJ gear. The name is H R Audio Video. I was told that it's $10 to have them check it out. I get there and there's no charge right now. I decided to spend no more than $200 to get it fixed. I could have went to Triple S in Bloomfield, NJ but I will never go there ever again. They do great work but they are SUPER EXPENSIVE! Too expensive. The guy tells me he will call me 7-10 days to tell me what's going on. They have a lot of things that came in he said to be fixed. I told him about Triple S and he knew they cost too much.

I bought it and no returning it. So just to see what can be done to fix it and how much it will cost. I know what the problem is now. Just a matter of finding a solution to the problem. No need of crying about it. That won't fix the problem.

You DON'T know what the problem is .. you know what some of the symptoms are .. the problem COULD be unfixable.

Cross faders and sliders are usually user serviceable and from what I recall only cost around $20 a piece. You could take a stab at opening it up and swapping these or at least buy the parts and have them on hand for the repair guy if you want to save some cash.

Speaking of which I have a greaaaat set of festival speakers described in another thread I'm willing to part with to get some money for some etx-35s... They *mostly* work...
