I just bought the Alto Stealth wireless system from KPODJ and paid $330 if you pick it up from them. If they ship it it's like $342. The going price is $399 plus tax. They are a bunch of great people there. It's the upgrade from the original one.

So you have 2 of them now?

Wow. Two stealth 's

No just the one. They have transmitter that are sold separately for add ons to the system. Not sure how many you can add on to go to the speakers. I will google that for the answer. My partner said he was jealous and wanted the same thing. All he has to do is just buy the transmitter that hookup to the speakers and be done with it. That's the way to go if he wants to do that.

I just finished watching a video on the Alto system and I'm super excited I bought it! I found out you can hookup four transmitters with the base unit to use with four powered speakers and I just found out the unit comes with 4 Velcro strips to use on each speaker for a clean looking setup.

I still want to know if you have a gig that needs a wireless speaker. From the gigs you've told us about, I have no idea why you need this thing.

I'd still rather run a cable.

These things operate right in the range of the popular Shure J1, G50, and H50 RF Bands and the RF space is overcrowded.

The alto has 16 fixed channels, a passive 1/4 wave omni antenna, and all the resonant peaks that crop up in a crowded RF space. I'm not saying they won't work - juts that when and if they fail it's likely to be at a high profile very active facility where you were really counting on perfect performance. Out in the suburbs probably very few issues but, I'd have a backup plan regardless.

They'd be better if they had a powered antenna connector (BNC) and option for amplified or directional antennas.

Yes we do and someone mentioned the $700 pro system. There are 2 different models. The pro system has a bunch of different features from the one I bought. Also the reason for buying this is in certain situations wires can be exposed and an accident can happen. When we did the wedding in that backyard kids were there. They kept running through the setup and the adults didn't tell them to stop even though I made several announcements to get the kids from running through the setup.

...and that's how NOT to do it.

Kind of like the power cable wires you’ll have running in the backyard to the “wireless “ system.

Getting on the mic and telling kids to stop running didn’t work, huh? I’ve never tried that, but I’m shocked it didn’t work😁

you know where the speakers should be.
if the venue arrangement puts you in a corner...or upstairs...or other shitty location wireless is a nice option.

Also for outdoor ceremonies - the speakers can be up front and I cna be in the back.

lots of uses for it once you have it. Opens up possibilities.

I did a 2 floor barn wedding once, dinner upstairs and cocktails/dancing down stairs, I ran wires then, but now have more options

I use at least one wireless speaker for one every gig. I even run my main speakers wireless if needed.

I would highly suggest getting used to what the Alto can actually do, not what it claims before you start relying on it.

Your post reminds me of certain companies who advertise professional gear for their products it makes and It's just plain junk. For example Gem sound made speakers back in the day claiming outrageous wattage the speaker could handle using an amp. If you went by what it said on the box and tried to push their speaker with that much wattage, the speaker would catch on fire. There's another one that claimed to make professional DJ gear and the stuff they made was designed for people who mostly were starting out and thought they were buying true quality gear. I just cn't remember the name at this time. TP Technical Pro is technical junk. I was in a store and picked up one of their amps. It was so light I could have thrown it on the other side of the store with ease.
