I was checking out some of the sales on eBay of gear similar to items I plan to sell soon. I have a Denon MC6000MK2 to sell and was watching a reasonably good one up for auction. The bidding closed with a high bid of $265. This was NOT one like Mix bought. This one was fully functional. Mix should have waited. It’s a little disappointing that they’re selling at such a low price, but the market it what it is.

Although I have no real need to buy I've been watching the local marketplaces and there is a ton of gear really cheap. I bought 4 SM 58's a few weeks ago simply because I couldn't pass up the deal, $100 for all next to new, but I've let the rest of the stuff pass by although it's tempting

Maybe hold off selling for a bit to see what happens, it sounds like the used market is flooded with gear.
My guess is that guys who didn't have any gigs in 2020 are desperate for ANY kind of income...
so they are selling anything they don't need.
Hopefully, it will get better when things turn around.

In the meantime, it's a BUYER'S market.

LOL. They're probably counterfeit. Remove the windscreen and check to see that the head is properly shock mounted - if it doesn't deflect and rebound when you press on it - it's a really good looking $12 counterfeit. But, for the price would make a nice knock-off for karaoke use. :)

If China has improved on this tell tale give-away (as they have so many before) test the mic for it's frequency response with an RTA. The fakes will roll off at 70Hz or above and/or 10Hz and below.

Selling new counterfeits as "used" is how China manages to move so much bogus product on unsuspecting buyers. It also saves them the cost of counterfeit packaging.

Used gear has actually INCREASED in price due to supply issues during the pandemic. The DJ gear tends to fluctuate quite a bit because the preferences are eclectic and not everyone selling it knows the value of what they have. DJ gear is OVER priced when sold by it's DJ owner - and under priced when sold by liquidators or institutional users. If it's eBay - sales are affected by a sellers feedback score - a person with very little feedback history Ex: (24) is high risk even at 100% positive.

Clean your gear, and take photos from every angle of things a knowledgeable buyer would want to look at. List it with a (price = your net + freight) and post with "free shipping" to make it feel painless to the buyer. Write a detailed description of it's condition and why you are selling it (making it personal). If there is ANY quirk disclose it and explain why this issue has never interfered with your use of the product.

Example said:
Used but, in excellent like new condition! I bought this unit with high hopes for lots of gigs, but alas two years later I've used it only a handful of times. Works Great! Power indicator LED is temperamental but does not affect operation in any way. Love this controller, but its time to for me to downsize.
If your price is higher than most it WILL sell eventually, because buyers who want working gear will pay more to get it - if your post leaves no doubt in their mind. Controllers typically get the crap kicked out of them, and DJs are prime candidates to pass off their broken or defective gear. If your's is in very good working condition make that plainly obvious and it will sell.

This is likely.

No buying over here!

If anything, I am considering selling my Alto TS215 Speakers with speaker covers in March if I am not back to working a full time job by then.

Wait...I thought you loved them?

I love my Alto TS212s much more. I also like my Alto 110A speakers more too.

I LOVED the low weight of those 15" speakers though. Only 33.6 lbs each. Problem is that they are bulkier than the 212s, and they top out sooner when pushing them. If I am going to choose a pair of speakers to get rid of, they would be the ones to go. I have not even used them in 2 years now. I don't have much use for them when I KNOW I will use my other speakers over these for what I am doing.

It also may take some time to sell them in the current business environment so I likely have them for a while to come.

Huh.. I've been wanting to unload my SZ2 and just stored it all last year since I assumed nobody would buy. The ones listed on Ebay right now are listed for more than I would have expected to get. Might be time to unload that bad boy.

One cannot LOVE Alto .. one merely TOLERATES them .. :)
No Alto has come a long way from the original ones they first made. Those were and still are junk. Entry level for a DJ who's just starting out and doesn't know any better.
