Suggestions for a corded microphone.

I like the Sennheiser e835 on my voice. The Shure SM58 is the industry standard for many applications.

But there are dozens of options at different price ranges depending on the application. I think we'd need to know more (style of vocalist, application, budget, etc.) to give a more specific recommendation.

I went to the show Saturday with Harold Melvin's Blue Notes, Intruders and Hunter Hayes. I was thinking of using a setup like those DJs did for a show like that.

Another industry standard is to not buy mics for a gig you don't have.
I was just looking into things. What's needed are mic stands and a XLR adapter that has 8 connections to hook XLR wires connected to wired mics. That's what I saw they used. They also used 2 active speakers sitting on the floor for the performers. They also used 2 RCF line area speakers and 2 QSC speakers. The sound was very good.

Is this the $400.00 gig Mixxy?

I didn't realize I have Shure 58 mic I bought from GC that was on sale. I haven't really used it yet. I got it for backup in case the wireless mics had an issue.

So what they used was a cable snake. It's not an adapter.

Check out your threads and you will know what was suggested & what you have in inventory! Should have asked & we could have told you.
I believe you have posted everything you have ever bought.

I was told I was to hookup to their system. So I was to use my controller, laptop and HD. I was never told I had to bring anything else. So miss me with your comment. The promoter told me he signed a contract with those guys and they told him they didn't need me to be the DJ for the show. They covered that part.

So what this means is you didn’t have a contract, correct?

I did but I'm going by what I was told and I wasn't going to make a big fuss. I wasn't going to get into a fight withe guys providing the sound. What was I to do? Get to the show and cause a scene? Not me. Just pay me and I'm fine.
