You won't get many standard sub poles to go high as the weight of the sub will dictate the stability and the mfg can't control that. The K&M I listed go about 4.5' above the sub .. about 6' to the bottom of the speakers on my Yamahas.

That seems to be about the norm for most poles height wise.

For me its just as much about not having to lift the speaker up and putting it on the pole after it is all the way up. That is why I looking for one that will spring or air lift.

I made my own "sub poles" and light t bars
I went to my local metal supply shop and had them cut me 2 pipes at 42" (1.5 inch pipe).
I then went to the hardware store and got a can of primer and a can of matt black paint
I think I was $30 total for the 2 pipes.
Same thing for my light bars, I had an extra pair of speaker stands, I replaced the second pipe with a longer one and put a 28 inch cross bar on the top.
I had to buy 2 T fittings on amazon, but I think it was still under $40

LOL, yes I am a DIY kind of guy

Stands are one area I would caution doing DIY .. it may impact the enforceability of your liability insurance if one should collapse or fall.

Yes, I agree with you.
In most cases its a bad idea to do DIY stands.
My subs are rated for 5 foot poles, and 80LBs Top speaker
so I was told a 42 inch pole and my 45LBS speaker is well within the safety triangle.

My brother is an engineer and he did the math and told me I was way within my safe zone.

My problem is that I can buy two sub poles on line for $65, what is not bad.
The bad part is they wanted $125 shipping in import fees.

Yea, if you have an M20 receptacle, it will lock up that end of the pole better.

This must be a new contender?

Just be aware - If you're looking at M20's for some speakers (like the ETX18's - and others, I'm sure), it is a custom pole.
