Now you got me debating if I want to take my MLS 1000s out or my Alto TS312s out for this wedding on Saturday, lol. The MLS1000s eliminate having to bring in a pair of speaker stands.

I guess this will also depend on what vehicle I end up using. My Gear Hauler the Chevy Traverse is in the transmission shop getting diagnosed. I think the Torque Converter is going bad in it according to the research I have been doing. Got a full tune up a few weeks ago, and that did not fix the hesitation, and rpms jumping at low RPMS when I start to accelerate in any gear after 1st gear. It started last October. It was barely noticeable. At first it seldom did it, then it started happening like a couple times every trip I did, then it turned into once every 15 to 30 minutes while driving...and now it's doing it literally every time I accelerate after 20 mph when the car drops to a lower gear to accelerate.

If I have to use my Camry, I will go with the MLS1000s, and not bring my Also Sub as that will save some space in the car.

What is needed in the venue you're doing the wedding at this Saturday? Do you know? Have you been there before?

That sounds like a speed sensor problem.

As for the MLS1000 vs TS312s, the Altos will lose out, badly. I'm really impressed with the quality of the sub on the MLS1000.

Let me ask you this since you own them. What are the good and bad things about the QSC speakers?

I love the QSCs. If you put them on stands then you need subs. If they're in contact with the floor, bottom end is a lot better. My main reason for wanting the MLS1000 is the built-in mixer. For my band stuff, it lets me ditch an external mixer. The QSCs are hands down my favorite traditional speaker.

My suggestion without knowing your financial state is why not keep the QSC's and when you can afford another one of the MLS 1000 speaker system get it then since you say how much you love the QSC's.

Personally for me I 15's for tops because when you need a good amount of bass you can get that depending on the venue and type of event you're doing. Also there are times when using a sub for an event will be overkill and the tops will do a great job. That's depending on the brand of tops you buy.

I no longer need the QSCs and I'm not big on keeping gear laying around that has no use. If I sell of the 3 QSCs, it should be enough to completely pay for the MLS1000. Time will tell how well the Harbinger holds up but at this point I'm ready to commit to the change. I am planning in the next year to buy a pair of QSC 12.2s for the venue (in place of the Alto TS312s). BTW, I tried one of my Behringer USB sound cards and it sounds wonderful with very little noise. This is a killer rig.

Let me please suggest to be careful about the volume coming out of those QSC speakers because of the issue with the neighbors complaining about the loud noise coming out of the venue. I heard that speaker in GC and it blew my mind! I didn't look in the back of the speaker. All I know is I love my Yamaha DSR speakers but those speakers were killer the way they sounded.

Hopefully that Harbinger system over time won't disappoint you. Good luck.

@rickryan.com I got it back from the Transmission shop today. It's confirmed it is the Torque Converter. They put in a fluid called "Shutter Stop" to see if that fixes the issue. He said I will know in 50 miles if the issue is fixed or not. Even if it fixes it, it could drive great for a while, but the issue will eventually come back.

If it doesn't fix the issue...It will need a new transmission. That's going to be over $4,500 which I am not really prepared to spend on a 2011 Traverse. However, my wife says I will have to pay it because all of the SUVs out there right now are going to cost an arm and a leg. I'm going to drive it around a good bit tomorrow and Thursday, and should know if it improves by then.

Good luck I feel you. I had to surrender to the 2012 I paid off that I didn't want to get rid of. I had to come to realize no need of keep trying to get a mechanic to fix it. It was done and time to let go. Just like when I didn't want to let go of a relationship that I kept trying to convince myself somehow I can fix this. The reason I got the one I have now is because it's only what I could afford.

When I had the other van I wanted a brand new Transit van. The sales lady that was trying to get me to buy it was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. The problem is she wasn't going to help me pay for it and I couldn't afford it
Simply hoping the best for you!

Where's the GC located? You should be able to get it online and even order it online.

Thank you, sir. I have to say, Chris at the Maryland store is hugely more efficient than the guys at my Birmingham store.

Yes, I run a dbx266 compressor (at my venue) in over easy mode. It's amazing how much headroom it gives, no pumping/breathing, and eliminates all clipping. It's funny you mentioned this as I've suggested this many times in this forum and have been chided for it.

Do you think the dbx266 would be good for mobile as well? Im in the process of getting two ev etx 12p and one etx 18p. Then later add another 18p. I had heard of ev clipping easily so was curious on the dbx266.

I run the ELX and ETX line - I have never clipped any of them. The ETX warning lights come on a little sooner than they should but there's plenty of room on them. Also, the EV's will lower their own volume if they think they're in danger. The thought behind it is to lower the volume and the music continues vs clipping and the music goes off. If you run stuff hard enough, you can blow anything. If you're clipping, you need to check the gain structure - or maybe you need more / larger equipment.

Them ETX's rock.

When the ETX18sp light comes on it is actually in a state of pre clipping. Still has a little more to go before clipping.

These days most reputable powered speakers have plenty of built in protection. There is little need for external protection. If you ever run with passive speakers, they make sense.
