Me too!

I actually proposed here that we compile and maintain an actual ODJT member links page - and Dan seemed to indicate it would be easy enough to do. I wanted something where we would have the html pre-done with links to all our sites that we could maintain and just drop into our websites.

Heck - just a list of Company names and urls would be good!

It never took off though - not enough takers I guess. I'd definitely link to all you guys.

Over the next little while I will be passing on some of the SEO tips and tricks I have learned over the last few months. Some of the tips will be pretty common knowledge for most and some will be stuff you may not know about

If you have any secrets you would like to share feel free

Lets start here with the obvious

Almost everyone is obsessed with bringing thier site to the top of the rankngs....and that's ok but the whole idea is to get found and it doesn't really matter how a client finds you. Remember your site is competing not only with other DJ sites in your area but with sites like prodj, wedj, etc. take the time t post the ads everywhere you can and have a links page to all the sites you have ads on (preferably directly to your ad if you can).

You should also have a Facebook Group or Fan page for your business. The "experts" are saying fan pages but from what I've been reading FB is going to release the don't follow on groups first. Regardless of that you need to do more than set up a group and let it sit there. Update the group with content frequently and change the description often to keep in the FB rankings. You can read more about this here

A Youtube and Ebay page are very useful too but again they have to be tagged right.

One of the biggest differences between Facebook Pages and Facebook Groups is that Pages (which are meant for use by business, whereas Groups are meant as fan sites) are accessible by anyone, without having to log into or even be a member of Facebook. Groups may only be viewed by being logged into Facebook. Plus Pages are much more dynamic, allowing html coding and flash content.

There are way too many ways to work it - I've only been back in blighty a few months and am making good ££££s by undercutting my best competition by a few thousand £££s

It's not rocket science - you just have to get it right - forget all the cobblers about keywords and debates on a load of bollocks - get yourself a decent wordpress template and BLOG about every gig and put photos up ++++++++

I could write a book here - by the way if you need a killer WordPress Blog which is totally geared up for SEO ;) give me a shout - these are all word press sites www.wordpressuk.com www.plymouthbuzzers.co.uk www.guzzads.com www.hiphooray.com -

From what I have been reading blogs are highly overrated because most of them are subdomained and not being picked up in searches.

There you go - don't sub domain it :p Better still buy your own server and host it really locally

I'm dominating around here for so many things - yes even number 1 for djs plymouth (on Google but using a UK based ISP) can't jock right now but am always up for passing the jobs to my mates

Just about to launch a For Rent site and get all the local To Let and Real Estate companies to pay a small monthly fee for ads :)

Blogs rock I used to harp on about them over at Pro DJ but no-one listened

Anyway good luck
