No its actually meant for high school and college aged kids as they are the one's who have made it viral on social media. If you're a dj for teenage groups, it is important to stay on top of viral trends, even if they last for two weeks. During those two weeks, you're gonna have a bunch of kids requesting that random song that went viral... just like my boo two years ago.

Nah you can have it over your way, definitely its not gonna work out this way, except maybe as a bad joke.:djparty:
No sense comparing it with "My Boo"..that's not a baby song

Glad you get traction with that.

I could see it working as a gag or prank but to independently include it in the open dance programming would not be in my playbook. My HS audiences, except maybe for one school, would revolt with extreme prejudice.

Hell, they already pout and feign surprise and disappointment when I play a request in its edited, approved version.

Don't knock it till you try it. I played it again Friday night at my 2nd Sadie Hawkins of the month and the kids went crazy. They do all the hand gestures and everything.

Again... if it's viral... they don't care what the song is... they wanna do that viral movement. I did a sweet 16 this friday, and before the night even really started I had 3 kids ask if I'm going to play the "keke song"... aka in my feelings by drake. I didn't get any requests for the baby shark song, as it seems its slowly on the decline.

I think its a regional thing that you could almost follow across the nation. baby shark is just now hitting this area in western KY.

Standards must be low , honestly if you played it here you'd get shot ..This is kindergarten song stuff , and its not even Aprils Fools yet :urgh:
You cant compare Baby Shark to the Keke song because that is not a baby song , though it is trash IMHO ..Why am i here?

But ur from Australia and not America so how can u simply understand a trend if you’re not there. It could be the Barney “I love you” song for all it matters... if it’s viral, and someone famous did something to it, the kids will wanna do it too. Fortunately I have not had an event where it’s been requested, specially since most of mine have been weddings recently, but that doesn’t diminish how relevant the trend is. If you had it requested by 10 kids at an event, you too would wonder why out of no where kids are begging for it to be played. If you saw it on the request list from a host at a teens party you’d probably have no choice but to play it. Despite our personal opinions on it being in fact a baby song... which I agree... we do not control what is a trend and viral or control what people want at parties. We can only control what type of crowd we appear to.
