Here are a couple of photos with two of my DJs from around 1980/81. Back then I had to design & built all my stuff. I guess I was smarter back then. What really cracks me up is the color of the carpet. Oh boy. But back then everything was new and fun. Equipment changed often as the money came in.Scan_Pic0036.jpgScan_Pic0195.jpgdowing 001.jpg

That is a lighting system controller I built it using a Lighting Fantastic Chaser, Radio shack color organ kit with dimmers for each channel, switching for strobes, police lights and a pin spot. I had to use every bit of three year Tech Elec class l I had in High School.

That Peavey speaker was the first speakers I bought used at GC. They are great speakers! I just sold them because at the time I didn't have any subs to use with them. I wish they made a power version of those speakers. The big mistake I made was replacing them with a pair of JBL JRX 125 speakers. After that I bought a pair of Yamaha S215 speakers which I still have to this day. They are in storage and still work. They are a great sounding speaker and worth every penny!

INDEED!! mine worked great until my equipment filled van got caught in a flash flood... with me and three friends trapped on the roof...once it was all over there were snakes and everything in the van... i gave the speakers to a friend....he painstakingly cleaned them and they actually worked for him for years... lol

Those set ups get cleaner and cleaner and meaner and meaner....good stuff!!! About how long does it take your crew to set up your latest package?

The one in the last pic with the proper crew (about 5 of us) can be done in about 1hr after all equipment is loaded in. Break down about the same.
