Ha! I still run a Vestax Typhoon on Serato. Vestax never wrote 64 bit drivers for it, yet somehow it still works with SDJ Pro!

I have a VCI-300 and it's still running too. It stopped with Serato Itch though, at least for Mac. I could get it to do the basic functions in SDJ but that was about it.

I have 2 Ddj-sz units and can’t seem to figure out if this is better or not outside the screen display. The sz is $700 more so I’m assuming there’s something that makes it a better unit
The SZ is more closely tied to the software - it was developed for Serato first - the 1000 was first developed for Rekordbox. However, word is it's jog wheels are much more like a CDJ.

My controller is a VCI380, still works fine with Serato.
...and here, when you need it, is it's replacement - Roland’s DJ-707M

Probably because of the DJ Show, it looks like lighning has hit again -

What's really impressive for me is all the mic inputs with feedback control!!

The first 5000 come with the full Serato DJ Suite — that’s everything including DVS and video.

So basically, all of them come with this. :D

I found that impressive as well.

I hope it is more than just a claim and that either Pioneer or Denon embrace and deploy that feature.

My second favorite software! Just remember, it does not have a dedicated Prelisten/Preview function like most other DJ software.
If you are used to software that has it, you'll probably miss it

Already got it, but it was free with the MC6000v2.

I think your big decision point on this vs the SZ series is the hardware effects versus the Serato effects. Pioneers onboard effects are more robust on the new 1000SRT in a big way. The Dub Echo is super cool, and you get a bunch of stuff built into the mixer. But you lose hardware access to Serato's internal FX engines.

There isn't enough for me to make a change from my SZ2... but I really like this unit. And I hope that they do a revamp on the SZ series to add the real CDJ platters and better mixer driven effects next.

I too found that really impressive and even put it in the consideration column .

I use the Denon DN MC 6000 MK2 with VDJ. I'm not changing until it stops working. They keep coming out with a new type of controller regularly. The question is when will you be satisfied? I kick major butt with what I use.
