Baltimore County (Where I live) Just announced that they will be doing Online Distance Learning for the first half of the upcoming school year. That is through January 29th, 2021. ...All other counties in Maryland who have announced their official plans have done the same thing. I am pretty sure the entire state will decide to do online distance learning. The city announced their plans yesterday. One County so far (Montgomery County) announced a phased in plan of getting students back into the school buildings. They will start with the lower grades Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd in elementary schools first sometime in the first 2 months of the school year, then 3rd through 8th grades around month 3, and high school around month 4. They will plan to start out with just a few days a week, then once the Pandemic is supressed to very low numbers, open schools up entirely.
I suspect every other Maryland county to follow a similar path to either Baltimore, or Montgomery County.
No sports or after school activities to occur during this time.
I suspect the economy will be stuck in this partially open suppressed state until April or May of next year because of all of this. Should make for a pretty dismal rest of 2020, and 1st quater of 2021.
What is your local area/state doing for the upcoming school year?
