For ceremonies, given the non-mixing nature or teh programing, wouldn't an app or program on a tablet be more efficient and simple.

I have a similar one (shown below) I use to mix my computers and my Echo Spot to my office system .. not sure I'd use it elsewhere.

For a small all-in-one mixer, I bought one of the Samson SM4 units ...

I bought the optional mic as well .. it's OK ...

I usually have 2 mic channels (headset/handheld) and sound source (laptop/tablet). At present, I'm still using a laptop, but will likely switch over to tablet soon. I have a little metal surface that slips over the speaker stand. I'm planning to mount this and my GTD mic receiver underneath the platform and have everything pre-wired. At gigs, just slip it over the speaker stand, then connect to my battery pack and plug into a K10.

I'm gun-shy from anything Samson. Had a pair of powered speakers just burn out for no reason. I went ahead and ordered the Rolls. We'll see if it's any good or not. Main thing is the format (front-loaded knobs) so it's fit the rig I'm putting together.

I've used the Samson many times .. no issue .. it's only 8.5" wide or so, so pretty small.

You're talking about a mixer from Samson vs. speakers made by Samson. You probably paid little to nothing for those speakers. I wouldn't buy a Samson speaker. I have dual cordless mics made by Samson. 288 concert series. They work well. No serious issues. The cheaper ones I bought by them were pure junk. I should have listened to the guy at KPODJ. They are experts and been selling gear for years besides being DJs.

I like the XLR outputs. Not too keen on the channel config. I think the knobs would be confusing (bass/trebble).
It is kind of weird .. but you get used to it. I bought it because it had BT and the balanced outputs.

How well do the mics work? I had a Samson wireless and it was a piece of crap.
This is very similar to the wireless mic built-in to the Alto Transport 12 I have .. both are fine for simple stuff like announcements or a quick toast .. I'd never try to have someone sing into one. I only use it for really small events .. otherwise, my controller case has a Shure SLX in it and my rolling racks have a few AT 3000 sets in them when I have a crowd.

Well that certainly inspires confidence.............. ;)

It was an $80 wireless mic .. wasn't expecting much. The Samson mixer has an XLR input as well, so you can add any mic preferred.

The Samson mic is pretty good with noise and such .. decent amount of foam internally ..

Rick, I don’t have that specific mixer, but I have a handful of Rolls stuff to fill different functions; mostly in the studio. No issues. You should be good.

I have a few Rolls mixers and the mic pre-amps suck. There is also significant leakage/cross-talk between cue and mains. I use them in racks for karaoke or DJing purely for portability because either the noise is masked by loud volumes or I don't leave anything running in cue while on the mic.

I would not use a Rolls mixer for a wedding ceremony. When everyone in the audience is silent and the only sound they hear is that mixer and your mics - sooner or later you're going to wish you had bought better gear..

You can spend years buying and throwing away all of this junk or you can actually save money and get yourself a decent digital mixer with 4 times the portability and 10 times the capability for about the same price. Even a Behringer XR12 is going to be better than a Rolls in every respect, and not cost much more. A QSC Touchmix will make life easy even if you don't already know how to setup a mix.
