Looks nice .. might be a rev or 2 before all the apps support it.

Roland is/was kinda new to the controller game (lack of support). I also liked the visuals better on the SZ2 - seemed easier to navigate and use.

I would just use it as a controller for my Megaseg software anyways, Nothing black electrical tape won't cover up.

I've never used a mixer like this before. I've always just used the built in mixer within Megaseg on my Mac for as long as I've been in business. I've always wanted one but found it hard to bite the bullet mainly b/c of price. Seen this one popping up a lot lately on websites. Thoughts on the Roland DJ-707M? Roland - DJ-707M | DJ Controller - (https://www.roland.com/us/products/dj-707m/)

The 707 has a number of features that are really attractive. But I think the main question is... what functionality are you trying to gain?

I have MegaSeg on my machine, but only use it for literally queing up a playlist I want to run. It auto-gains itself well. It fades between tracks. You can certainly map midi to it... and while MegaSeg will take the jog wheel input, it's not really set up for a mixing DJ to do a lot of manipulation. So the DJing side of it seems almost entirely unncessary.

However, this unit in particular is a better than average mixer for a wedding DJ. It's got zone control, feedback suppression, as well as reportedly good mic preamps (I've never heard them personally).

Those might be reason alone to use a unit like this. But I would assume it is replacing another mixer that is currently in your lineup if you use it that way.

I do not using anything other than my Mac and a Yamaha MG10.

I hate seeing someone call a unit like this a mixer. It's a CONTROLLER. LOL. I remember I had 4 CDJ 800'S and sold them. I regret I did even though I have a controller. That's a nice controller it looks like. My question is how much does it weigh? My partner had the Numark NS 7 and that unit in a case was too heavy for mobile work. It was a job getting it in the van or up some stairs. He eventually gave it to his son.

It's also a mixer .. much like the Numark NS7 was also a controller AND a mixer. Imagine that. Is your mind blown?

This is a Rane 12 .. it is a controller .. only ...

The Denon 6000 is what's is more appropriately called a mixer/controller, though most just say controller these days.

If the feature set is more "mixer" like the DJ-707M, then no issues calling it a mixer.
