Close, but the HD32A has a larger compression driver .. 2" vs 1.4" .. crossover point is also a little lower, so the horn carries a bit more of the mid-bass region, and might be a little cleaner in the male vocal range. The guts appear to be similar.

All 3 above work better with subs .. which are still going to cross over around 110-120Hz. The HD32's 2" horn just allows the horn driver to handle a little more of the vocal range, which keeps it further from the crossover point, where you tend to get some interaction between the drivers. Overall, they are probably very similar ..

I'm pretty close to ordering the HD's for future reference which RCF subs are a good match I really like the powercon connections

You have to move up their line for Powercons. I think the 8000 series is the cheapest with Powercons .. probably starts at the 4Pro 8003.

Wonder if the 705-AS is still available .. the RCF website shows them discontinued, replaced by the 705-AS II(which I really like), but they don't have Powercons.

The RCF HD 32 is a really great speaker. I have a set that I use for weddings with the EV ETX 15 subs. What I like most about them is the powercon connections. They sound great for a 12" speaker. I was always comfortable with a 15" top so I also added a set of the RCF 735 a speakers to the collection. They are definitely worth a look.

John - You bought the HD32s .. how do they sound? They're still on my list to pick up unless I go with a 10" speaker.

Steve I honestly love them. They sound clean and they do get loud. I ran them wide open at a wedding for 5 hours and they were barely warm at the end of the night. They handle well without a sub for smaller events as well.

They handled this 150+ guest event with ease.

The 735 is a great all-around speaker. The HD32, being a 12" 2-way, is better used with a sub. The HD32 has an uncommon feature of a 2" HF driver .. vs the 1" or 1.4" on most others (1.4" on the 735). That allows the HF driver to have a lower crossover point and therefore keep more of the vocal range in that driver, so vocals tend to be cleaner. It is a smoother sounding cabinet based on my limited listening tests.

I am sure you can find them if you look hard enough. The ART 705AS is a solid model, designed and built when they weren't too concerned with competing with the Chinese built stuff.

can you powerlink them???

Yup.

How does the rcf 735 compare to the hd32?
The 735 and the HD 32 are almost identical in specs and sound. 15" vs a 12" in my opinion. The 735 has very good bass response for a plastic cabinet. The 735 was designed as a alternative to the very pricey 745 speaker. The 745's had issues that were supposedly corrected in the 735 and at a better price point. 1499 each vs 999.00 each. The HD32 can hold it's own but to me they are better as stage monitors of FOH speakers for speeches and conferences. Music playback is excellent but for the larger events my 735's will be used the most.
