Propositioned at a Bar???

Yes. I'm married, declined, but flattered.

Alcohol had nothing to do with it, either. So what if she was intoxicated. I'm a God and she was just the only one able to see it that evening. :wacky:

If a woman makes it easy for you, don't be flattered. Run away!

Be proud that you have a loving wife. You did something right. Any fool can get laid, but a real man knows how to love.

I've never worked at a bar, but I have been "propositioned" during my college gigs, way back.

But, because I am dense, I did not realise that the girl who comes up to my booth, asking me about my records and equipment, coming back to sit with me and telling me about her ex-boyfriend, was the girl who was interested in me.

"Can't you see I'm working!?" were my thoughts at the time.

"Can't you see you're an idiot, Johnny?!" are my thoughts now.

Ah... memories.

It happened on occasion at the VFW shows back home. :)

When the word got out that I was divorced, the women started looking at me differently. One widowed lady who was not far from my age took an interest. She would sit in a chair behind the console with me and enjoy the music.

She had a serious drinking problem, though... not something I was ready to deal with at the time.

Now I've gotten older. The women don't pay me much mind anymore. They're all young pups.

Fred,

You just aren't working in the clubs!

It seems like a lot of the twenty somethings are looking for a daddy figure. I am old fat gray and ugly and still get propositioned at least once a night by some young thing.

Yup...the offers still come from drunk bridesmaids and old cougars that are starting to figure themselves out

Not like the old days though when the pretty young things would give you a cute look if you played thier song they just give nasty ones if you dont nowadays.

Sometime we are all at a convention ill tell the story about the greek wedding and the picnic table too many young (under 30) ears here lol:sqwink:

yes at the club I was working at years ago and single,,, what did I do? everything I could get away with, it didn't happen all that often....

At a New Years Eve gig I had a "fan" come up and ask me how much would I charge to "bring my stuff" over to their house and keep the party going. I said that it would take me forever to tear it all down, get it in the van, take it to their house, re-set and start the music.....

HE said that I didn't need to bring my DJ gear, just my stuff..... this was fairly early on in the night and all night he kept coming up and asking and talking to me... I went home alone....

Dammit. And here I am happily married! I could be having some young lady wanting me desparately! :sqeek: :sqlaugh: :sqlaugh: :sqlaugh:

OK, I am BAD at recognizing getting hit on. So the only 2x I know it happened I was flat out asked to have a "go" with them. But that was in the early 90's. I don't wear a wedding ring now, but I don't see me getting hit on anytime soon..... unless Johhny hits on me... he is GREEK, you know!

Steve is right... the closest I ever came to DJing for young people was a few HS dances. I'll be honest ~ I've never worked in a club atmosphere. :)

Offer or honor?

She offered her honor
He honored her offer
All through the night
It was honor and offer

Though in my Clubbin days I could hold my own
When it came down to DJn and scorin I totally became oblivious to women attempting to sample one of my mixes. Asides for two different occassions in one particular Club my boss even commented that how directed I was. In six months working form e he had seen many of the hot club goer girls hitting on me and not a once me taking advantage. The two occasions occured after being divorced. He Called me a saint, of course I was devoted to my work and also was married though didnt wear a ring, he said every other DJ he had hired were totla slut dogs and it was interesting to see my devotion to my work. Lord knows after two divorces I probably should have sown a bit of the wild. But I mostly had my DJ integrtiy driving me and wouldnt truly change a thing.
