Wow, that's impressive. Did it take a while to gets those folders setup?

im ocd...so organization is my chocolate...lol

but its super easy in rekordbox... anytime i add a new song to the library...i can right click it and it has an add to folder option....so i can add it to multiple appropriate folders and have it exactly where i need it at the right moment and never have to hunt much.... a song like ymca is going to be in the 124 wedding and party folders...as well as 70s and disco folders... it will probably be in my Novelty folder as well...and i might slide it in to my Line dance folder to make it easiest to find...

As far as time... the initial system takes a little time to drag everything in and create the folders....i actually have the physical library of folders on my computer set up the same way....so it was easy to just make a folder in rekordbox ....say...70s music.... then go to the folder on my computer called 70s music... and drag the entire folder in... takes it a couple minutes to render all the files...and boom..ur done

i initially retired from live djing in 2007... i had a club residency and was still using cds... when i "unretired" last year....i was highly intimidated by all the modern tech... but i gotta tell ya... once u take the plunge u will never look back....its not only "familiar" ...but its much easier...

The minute you trade in those milk crates of heavy cds for virtual crates on your laptop or a stand alone player...u will love it!

I was using denon 5000's at the time i retired...also had a pair of 2500s... now im using a Pioneer rx2 "Stand alone" controller...not a fan of laptops... my music files are on thumb drives....so i can carry an entire collection in my pocket...

I know a few younger DJ's that have tractor and Serato, they have let me try them.
I understand how it all works, music sorted and stored in folders, Search your song, drag and drop.
For me, My Brain will not accept the screen. I look at it with all the different colors, and lines, and the flashing lights, the numbers changing.
Its too much info to fast for me to proses.

Years a go, someone told me about a program, very basic that at the top of the screen had two boxes that had the buttons and counter laid out just the same as my Numark cd players.
and the bottom of the screen was just one long list of all your song files.
and it had a large search window at the very bottom you could type in your song request.

I guess I am too old school. lol

Some of the apps have the ability to be "skinned" and some of the skins are simple looking. Some samples .. there are others.

Here's a couple dual CD skins for PCDJ ... 1555981667032.png 1555981864106.png

Right, the PCDJ top left is more of what I was thinking.
I think I could handle that.

Side note I have a 1972 leprechaun 32 channel light controller/dimmer
The Board is 4 banks of 8 channels, The board it self is 5' long, 24" deep and is 300lbs
Then there is 4 boxes with 8 set of 2 regular wall plugs, each channel turns on or off/dims I set of 2 plugs
To connect the board to the boxes i use 4 100 foot 8 channel snakes
This was state of the art in 1970.
It took me close to three years to re wire it and get it all working again.
For Christmas my wife got me a 512 dmx controller lol

lol...i used to run snakes like that to par cans ...miserable!! ... now my donner set fits in a tiny foam lined case... as an older gentleman u need to embrace technology just to save your back...hahaha

I don't use my leprechaun very much. maybe 3 or 4 times over the last 5 years. I gut it fee when they were taring down a concert hall.
I use a American DJ light copilate. And I am looking at the DMX as a good thing. I like the idea of connecting the lights in a string and running them wirelessly from the controller.

I'm not that old, early 40's, I just like doing every thing old school
