I got a call for a military ball in February. Full rate and they're going to buy food so this could turn out to be a very good booking for the end of February, 2021. One thing, they asked for a projector. Oddly enough, when I cleaned out my personal effects this past Sunday (divorce) I left my projectors behind. Kinda tweaked me for a moment but then check amazon and boy have things changed. Here's a 7k lumen unit for less than 3 bills. If it's that cheap for a unit that's twice the lumens, I think it pays to just buy new.

A few downsides .. from the reviews, it appears to be a 1080i, not 1080p projector .. probably no issue with slides, but it won't render video as well. Second, it's a 50w white LED .. NO WAY that's going to do 7000 lumens (notice they don't use the standard ANSI lumens) .. 2000 maybe, so be prepared. Also, it appears the optics aren't as good as better units, so you'll get aberrations in corners and such.

There is a reason it isn't close in price to better units ...

We get questions about these no name projectors on the backyard movie site. Prices of video projectors have dropped a lot over the past few years. Optoma and Benq are some of the least expensive name brands. usually these no-name brands always give you some specs which are misleading and make absolutely no sense, 7000 lumens, notice they didn’t said ANSI lumens which every name brand uses. And it only goes 200”. I’m not saying this thing won’t make a picture but it would be likely the equivalent of buying one of those DJ speakers you see in the wholesale club. Usually if it isn’t listed or reviewed or projectorcentral.com I’d be very suspect. Currently projectors are moving to Laser, 4K, short throw & ultra short throw so that is also causing a decrease in price on projectors that don’t have those features. I am keep an eye out for an affordable true 4K short throw projector. No luck yet.

What this reminds me of is for example an old Gem Sound non powered speaker making a fantastic claim as to how many watts the speaker can handle. Now the price is super low for the claim. They are usually talking at the lowest ohms. they are actually not telling the whole truth to get someone who doesn't know to buy their product. The old saying is usually true, you get what pay for. Look for a name brand that has a reputation to up keep so people will but their product and highly recommend to others.

WTH are you talking about? You have no clue. Sometimes its better not to say anything.
What I'm talking about are those companies that make fantastic claims that those who have been this business a long time know better. I will say it again, it's best to with a name brand and spend the extra money instead of taking a chance with a company you don't know just to save money. Usually you find out what you thought was a good deal turned out to be a bad decision because you realize you should have bought the item costing more and be done with it. The old saying is usually true, you get what you pay for.

Facts based on a survey of previous MixMasterMachoM customers.

You mean like buying an iPad or Samsung tablet vs buying a cheap tablet?😁

.. or a $30 box of 10 mics, 2 no name $30 recorders to record Speaker Jams (for profit), yada, yada ..

Got correct you on one thing. No 2 things. First those recorders cost $60 each if I remember and they were name brand recorders. Those events I was the DJ as well. I understand you wouldn't do one because the money they paid me to DJ for them isn't enough for you. Just remember you're not a member thank God. So it's not something near and dear to your heart like it is for me.

At the wedding I helped out on last night,
the boss used a 5000 watt projector.
(which he bought re-furbished for $25)

This was shot across the patio and the lawn...before it had gotten totally dark.
