Taso mentioned that FB is dead and brides are all on Instagram. I'm sure most of you here already know this but, being Captain Obvious, thought I'd post a little trick that will let you post pics from a computer to Instagram:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's how to switch your Chrome browser (desktop) to be able to post Instagram from your computer. Pull up Instagram.com then right-click. When the menu pops up choose "Inspect". Then click the device type icon to switch to Mobile. You'll need to click the browser's refresh button after each icon click. Once you've toggled to Mobile, the PLUS sign will appear at the bottom. You can then post pics to Instagram from your desktop.

This works in theory, but I'm pretty sure that the photos you upload this way don't show up in anyone's photostream. Have you gotten any likes or comments on photos you've uploaded this way? That will be the tell-tale sign.

I just followed you on Instagram and guess what... none of your uploaded photos have descriptions, hashtags or any type of text associated with them. They're just photos with no details, location tags, or other identifying info. Honestly, your feed looks like a bot account.

Instagram always wants you to use their app. Requiring that (and filtering out descriptions and hashtags uploaded using a web browser or third-party service) ensures that they continue to have the most native content posted to their service.

I didn't know this, but I guess my question is, "Why?"

The instagram app is pretty darn easy to use. I'm just curious why you'd be going around it.

If you have pics on your computer..Eg. professional shots..It saves a step. personally I would share to Insta from Facebook and you got both covered

Yea, I just set this account up earlier in the week and posted a batch of photos the same day, no tags or text. Went to post one earlier (with text) and couldn't get it to work. Thanks for the follow.

Let me answer this quickly. You CANNOT post on Instagram from your computer. You also can’t see private messages, and a couple of other things. This app, like many of the new ones like Snapchat, TikTok, etc are designed for mobile only. You have to transfer everything to your phone first.
On a side note, it’s why I love apples airdrop feature... right click the file to share via airdrop and just pick the Apple device you want to send the file to. Super easy

I move a lot of stuff back and forth on GDrive which syncs really easily with my phone. I guess I just haven't paid much attention to trying to do it otherwise.

yeah technically you can use any cloud software like dropbox or google drive... i just mentioned airdrop bc it drops the image right into my photos on my iphone. It's how I do all my "welcome" posts... finish them in photoshop airdrop em right to my photos folder.

By the way i misread Ricks original post... I thought he was asking how to post from a computer... I didn't realize there was a way to pull up the mobile version on a desktop.

On a side note, I'm noticing all your photos being posted in square format, when some clearly would look better in 16x9 format. Does the way you're trying to do it not give you any of the ratio adjusting abilities?

I haven't noticed any way to switch it. On another subject, I think the account I setup for the chapel is hosed. I think I'm going to ditch it and have changed over my photo+DJ instagram to take its place.

what do you mean hosed? And on the phone there is usually a small circle when choosing the photo that allows you to change the aspect ratio.

I use Apple Photos, so it sync automatically, BUT like Taso said, AirDrop is such an amazing feature. Enough of a reason to own an iPhone. Same with Airplay.

Say what you want about Apple, but they really got the ecosystem down in super user-friendly effective methods.
