Photographers Friend or Foe

More than likely you've had to work with a photographer either in a club or in a wedding reception. How have you worked with these fine people of the media.

Do you network? Try to Network? or just let them be? Do they try to network with you? Are they kind, etc.? Since i'm a hybrid videographer/dj sometimes i despise certain photographers because they get right in my shot, we usually bring a two person film crew where i work, and it wouldn't be too hard to get right next to us and get a fine looking photo... I've pretty much seen all types in the industry. The nice, the drunk, the arrogant, the gay (with cover up girlfriend); i think there is a huge communication or gap between photogs and videographers, there is more than likely a bigger one between Photogs and DJs... Basically i'm looking for your input.

For the most part, I've had pretty good luck when it comes to working with photographers. But then again, I always coordinate everything with all the vendors so everyone is on the same page. Most DJs in my area don't do this, so it usually earns their respect rather quickly. :)

But, I've also worked with some photographers and videographers that didn't care what I had to say (even if it was worked out ahead of time with the B&G) who cop an attitude (you know, the "you're just a DJ, so therefore you're an idiot) no matter what I do. No problem, they don't get recommended in the future.
