Editing may not change things - but it may pause your membership here. You're entitled to your opinions - you are not entitled to be explicit in your dialogue. You complain about music with explicits in it - yet here you are using those same words. Be respectful to others and they will be respectful towards you. Those are in the Terms Of Service that you agreed to upon joining this forum. Further occurrences will win you a vacation. You've been warned (x2). Being a fan of his or not has absolutely nothing to do with you using explicit language. Additionally, you obviously don't know how to read or you may not have made that statement.
I hear you and I understand.

Now let's tell the truth that some want to put on a blindfold. If Obama could have run for a third term he would have won in a landslide. When he won his first term people all over the world were shouting and screaming they were so happy.

Then he wins again. That stung some people really bad. Don't forget racism still exists. I'm proud of him because of the way he carried himself while in office. He showed a lot of class and dignity that they weren't expecting. In other words they tried their best to get him to act a certain way and he didn't.

Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the last election for president was crooked. They were not going to have right now a woman become president after having a black man being president. Certainly not Hillary Clinton.

Now if you read through the lines, they wanted him in office to erase as much as he could of Obama's name on things he did or created. That was his objective for getting into office period. They didn't care that he would be this big of a disgrace to this country. Just get that objective done. Now when he got into office right away he upset plenty of world leaders to the point they didn't want to sit in the same room with him to talk about anything.

As expressed earlier, I will not debate politics with you - others may. Keep it clean and respectful and you can continue your debate / opinions / thoughts. If you are unhappy with how things are done or the results, complaining here does nothing. If you voted, complain to your elected and Government Officials.

What I will say is that it's no secret what your thoughts and opinions are of things - however you are not receptive to anyone with any thought or opinion that even slightly deviates from your own - and this is demonstrated across everything you talk about here. In order to be heard, you have to hear, comprehend and be able to acknowledge that there are more versions of the story than you know. While you may not like these versions, they may contain the truth. You might actually learn things. You might teach others things. If you are unwilling to do this, then you are sticking your head in the sand and ignoring anything but your own version - which is exactly what you claim everyone else is doing. Additionally, you can continue complaining about what could have happened or might have happened (which is of no use) or you can look at where we are and figure out how we, as a nation, move forward and prosper together - without being accusatory, derogatory, pointing fingers or using explicit terms.

Getting back to the OP...

The radio business is more needed than ever.
However, not so much for commercials.
We've lost so much money recently, that the owner just cut all of our salaries by 20%.
(until this is over)
You could say that we should be happy to be working at all...
but here's still the issue of getting -and/or- sharing the virus.

Nice feeling to be essential and making 20% less that really sucks

The company I work for took this very serious from the start I have nothing but good to say about them

Yeah, we are a VERY small company...with 3 FM's and 3 AM's...(none of which are big money makers)...
most of our advertisers are small, local businesses...so they cannot afford to keep advertising right now.
I understand the need for us to save money right now.

The big corporate radio clusters are paying their people 100% and letting them work from home.
I have a friend who also does production for them, and they set up a studio in his house!
The good news is, I just found out that I should be able to work from home two days a week,
and with an hour+ commute each way, that will help a lot!

Sorry to hear that Mike. I'm very thankful for all the hard work from radio and media getting information out.

Talked to a friend today. She's working from home with her 3 year old as part of PA's closure was ALL daycares.

She got a call from her daycare telling her she has to pay full price for every week even if the child isn't there as they need to keep paying their employees.

She said no, i'm not paying you for doing nothing.

They then said 'well, we may not have space for your child when this is over' and she says fine, i'll find another daycare.

SOOO....how you handle your customers may determine your future. I know I'd feel the same as her. And not go back and tell everyone else stay away as well.

We have 24 stations throughout eastern Canada 18FM and 6AM I believe is the breakdown. There are 3 locally. Right now the sales guys are all working from home and the afternoon guy on one of the FM's and The AM Afternoon guy are home too. The other FM is voicetracked from out of market. Most through the company are working from home there are 3 on air (one is ops manager) and an office manager still in the station. We have cleaners coming in every day and we sanitize our areas every morning. We've been like that for 3 weeks now before the bad part of the breakout

One thing to come out of this virus .. companies will figure out HOW to have people work remotely if needed. Maybe that won't be the norm for many, but I would guess there is investment going on in VPNs, security software/hardware, laptops vs desktops, etc. to make sure this is a smoother transition if there is another ww scare.

In other words...
