I'm not sure what we were supposed to understand, but let me try. You invited a lady to the event. She brought some people and payed for them. Asking her to pay for more people than she had planned for would have been tacky.

What does this have to do with the international money laundering scheme that Jeff, Itgger, and I are plotting?
