Well, received my new RCF 805’s today. It’s funny because I tried a new company this time because GuitarCenter.com sent me used stuff the last few times. Well, big
mistake. I found a much worse internet company to do business with. Spent $4,000 at idjnow.com in the last couple weeks, and this is what they sent. Two damaged subs...not just blemished on the bottom or something...damaged. I didn’t even take them out of the boxes and when I saw the damage to the top and front edges.

Beside myself with disappointment. Now I really don’t know where to buy my equipment.

If I'm not mistaken... RCF gets shipped directly from the manufacturer from their Edison, NJ location. I've ordered from IDJNOW, Justin specifically, and my items came straight from RCF.

The tops came from RCF directly but these came from idjnow as a package with a cart and stands. Tops were perfect.

I just got a response from customer service and all she asked was if I’d tested them to see if they work. As if I am going to keep them with all that damage.

I doubt IDJnow did that - who delivered them? FedEx? Their home service is inde contractors and well, round here they suck big time. I've found UPS to be reliable.

As an option, can you have the replacements shipped to a FedEx/UPS LOCATION - and go pick them up there. First, less chance a driver will damage them, second if there is an issue you're at the place!

for many things I use Northern Sound and Light - they're cheap and 40 minutes from me, so no shipping and I get stuff faster - and no damage (and help loading in teh car too).

can you say DISCOUNT?

it costs to ship them back and send out new ones...$100 maybe more.

I try not to damage my gear but it gets marks and scuffs, even with covers for transit. One top has what looks like white paint on it..won't come off. It's black plastic housing so it's not like it's a primer coat showing thru. Oh well.

Likely it’s the shipping company at fault. Crap happens during shipping sometimes. Not fun but it’s happens. I highly doubt that any legitimate dealer would ship out stuff that’s damaged. And have to deal with having the stuff shipped back. Thats insane.

Some people will keep a item with some damage for discount, other would want a new item. How would they know without asking?

i am sure they will let you know what your Options are, return for a new pair, discount or something else.

Me, too. Shipped directly from Edison, NJ to North Carolina....nothing damaged!

I'm sure they will make it right.

I had some RCF stuff arrive damaged and they took care of me on it.

It's not a tragedy yet.

i understand your frustration at the situation....but you act as if some guy from idjnow took a bat to your products and then clicked ship.... this is obviously the shipping company...and they probably needed to know if they still work in order to know where to have them sent back to... them or RCF...

They might offer you a discount just incase you'd want that...some guys would... but they will no doubt make this right... however... you speaking abusively or blasting their good name all over forums without full disclosure or knowledge of what actually went wrong...and without explaining their approach to remedy the situation in full... i just find it amateurish.

I have no stake in the company....but have had nothing but amazing experiences with idjnow again and again...

Call IDJNOW. Have them take care of this.

You may need to fill out a RA sheet.

They will send you another pair. I have fortunately, had no issues with IDJNOW products delivered to my door in the past.

Very simple solution here. Contact idjnow, do an ra, they will give you a label, shipper will pickup, and new subs sent to you. Most likely they will send you a new set out before even getting the damaged units back. No big deal, just shipping damage.

I did call them. They did offer me $400 to keep 'em. I just can't do it. No way. I worked hard for that money and I want nice stuff. I also could never get anyone to buy them from me in this condition for $800 each, so it makes no sense to keep them.

I did overreact. It probably is UPS's fault. They actually left them here without me even though the stuff was shipped signature required.

It was partly the disappointment, partly the way my issue was received by the first person I had contact with (that was after I had already emailed my sales person from the purchase, who didn't respond), and partly b/c I assume I'm getting the short end of the stick at all times.

If a mod can delete this thread, that's cool with me.

But I will say this:
-If someone spends 4K at your website and then sends you those pictures, they want you let them know immediately that they'll be OK. Like immediately say, Dude, it will be OK, we got you. Not, I forwarded your issue. Anything else?
-That packaging is not adequate to ship from Coast to Coast, period. RCF shouldn't do it, iD shouldn't do it. Also the speakers themselves should have something on those edges to protect them, IMO. One rough ride in a UPS truck and you have paint coming off and all kinds of damage. That is crazy.

@Justin Schwarz is a member here maybe he can give advice or handle the situation for you. I seriously doubt this had anything to do with idjnow it was likely the shipping company. I'll leave this open for 24 hours to give Justin a chance to respond.
