At my final gig of the year, I determined that there is an issue with one channel of my mixer.
Some of the signal is being lost, mostly bottom end, and it sounds pretty bad.
I have owned this Stanton RM80 for a Long time, so I am considering buying something new,
rather than buying used or getting it repaired. (here is a pic)
I could buy another RM80, but I'd like to see if there is something better.

Here is what I absolutely MUST have:
I need at least 4 channels. (but don't want TOO many faders)
I need at least two mic inputs (prefer both were XLR, but one can be 1/4")
Must be 19" rack mountable, and not too tall.
Must have a mono/stereo option.

I like having separate channel output meters/lights, with separate gain knobs for each channel.
Don't need beat counters, effects, crossfaders.

All the great rack mount mixers have been discontinued, so we're down to the American Audio 19MXR, and a couple of Behringer mixers .. plus a couple battle style for which there are rack ears available.

If you don't need a crossfader, you may be better off looking at a smaller rack mount live sound mixer.

OR .. look for a good used Pioneer 5000, Rane MP25, A&H Xone S2, etc.

yeah, I've found plenty of choices,
but either Pyle-Pro or other names I am not familiar with.
Any thoughts on the American Audio mixers?

Probably on par with the Stanton .. does have dual stereo USB and simple controller capability .. plus 3 mic inputs. I'd go with it over the Behringer models.

Starting to feel like I am restoring a classic car and can't find the parts!
Everything has gone to all-in-one controllers .. sort of like the SUV. I sometimes consider selling my Rane MP25, since I can get more than I paid for it since it's been discontinued, but then I couldn't replace it.

What about the Denon MC6000MK2? I have the original and it still works like a champ. It is a controller and a digital mixer all in one. So it can do exactly what you want and it can also be used as a controller for Serato, VDJ, Traktor, or OtsAV.
Great unit .. I have one .. seemed overkill for what Mike wanted.

Now Mike, you could always go with one of these: Denon Professional - DN-410X $263 @ KPODJ.comhttp://denonpro.com/products/view/dn-410x#.WG1w0WratlY

I don't know about American Audio mixers, but I LOVE my American Audio controller (VMS 4.1). I also have a Pioneer controller (DDJ-T1), but prefer the VMS 4.1. This thing is built like a tank and it meets all my needs. It's also very reliable.

I also have an American Audio DP2, which is more the size and configuration you're looking for, but it's only a 2 channel controller. It's installed in my small rack and it works fine for me, but I have it plugged into another mixer in order to add additional microphones and other inputs. You can't buy a new one anyway because they don't make them anymore. This controller is also pretty well made, but I have not used much. I've rarely used my small rack.[emoji4]

If you have to go with American Audio, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

A friend of mine just mounted a 16 channel Yamaha with these brackets! we had to make adapters to get 19 inch rack space.

This is what I use! And I looooove it! Don't have it rack mounted, but it is has the threaded inserts for these brackets.

I should have got the sixteen! I do some small band sound for my daughters band.

Well, if I want something NEW, and I don't wanna pay $600 or $700...
I don't have many options.
And I don't want to settle for a model that doesn't have what I want, except a decent price.
I've seen the Production Company use many a Behringer 10-02 mixers.
They hold up pretty well, and I won't be using them quite that hard.
Hell, Stanton mixers aren't known for being made of steel...
but mine lasted a looooooooong time.

I'm gonna take a closer look at the American Audio mixer.
I was on their site yesterday, and even THEY have discontinued most of their 19" mixers.
They had some real nice ones, perhaps I can still find them.
