I have to say I was never a fan of the original G2 Eon, but this new speak is a step up. I really like the design of it and the fact that it’s powered by Crown is also a plus. Some are not too happy with the design but I would take 2 of these with the sub over a Mackie rig any day.

Or step up to the Dyna plate. LOL sorry Im too sold on my rig after having great Italian Mackies. I havent seen the new Eons the crown addition is intriguing.

Having owned 5 of the older Eon 15's, and presently own 2 G2 15's and 2 G2 10's, I really like those. I wouldn't trade them for my Bose but I still have gigs that I use my Eons for.

I think they look cool as hell.

Just with that saying...there will be many of them sold.

I personally think EON's sound like crap. (I own a Pair). Hopefully these have better tone to them.

They look cool.

They have better amps than the old EON's

They are lighter.

The matching sub is nice.

Lets wait and see how much they cost.

They look good.

Hopefully the 10" will have a better handle....or simple a "Handle"! The current 10" G2 have a "hand-hold", which is useless. I typically grab the speaker from the front / horns rather than use the hand-hold.

I still own a pair of 10 years old Eons.I use them for outside gigs(Pool Partys and simular).I dont sell them because i dont get any money for them and at the end they dont let me down-so why give them away but i dont use them for inside gigs. They simply dont sound good.I also have two active cheapys which are inside better sounding.
At the end-if the client is happy-im happyy too, doesent metter with which speakers i play.

I sold 4 of mine in range from $275 - $200. They were beat but still worked great. The people that are buying them are either beginner DJ's or bands using them as monitors. I had no problem unloading mine on ebay.

All this hoopla about how they look, it's how they sound that is what's important. I'm not a JBL fan at all. If these are better sounding due to better drivers and better designed enclosures then they warrant consideration. If the cosmetic changes are just lipstick on a pig then they can keep them.

I disagree.

We are entertainers, and dream enablers. We've got to provide the right sound, but also the right look and most importantly the right energy. So if our guests think they look like space vehicles and that holds them back fom having a good time - we're not doing a good job, are we?

I stil gig with a pair of EON G2 15s as my primary tops. If I had the money and the time for selling gigs and could find a pair of Italian mackies - I'd add that to my bag of tricks - but I don't know if they would replace my trusty eons.

PeteT,
Mackies are clearer and more bumpy at bass as Eons but louder they are not.It depends what you want and what is better for youre ears.In start i had a problem with my BoseL1s because i was not used to that sound. After a gig or two with them i started too be impresed with the clearns of sound and yes, i had a feeling it was not enough Bass but it was.
