Just sayin' HI! New guy on the forum, but bringing over 25 yrs experience with me... Every time I say I'm quitting the DJ/live sound gig for good, someone always manages to drag me back into it. I still DJ part-time, but have others working for me who do it full-time--I do a lot of live sound myself, and am the resident gearhead who provides and maintains all of the equipment.

I DO NOT live in "mamby-pamby land" with ultra-lightweight powered speakers the size of home theater cubes and a processor rack that fits in a gym bag. I use REAL equipment which means racks of amps and processors, and speaker cabinets that look and sound like real pro-audio speakers. Most of my rigs are equally suitable for hooking up a laptop or plugging in a live band--don't need the cargo van for CDs and vinyl (unless you want a vintage gig), but you still do for the equipment.

Some favorite brands--Peavey, EV, EAW, CV, Mackie, dbx, Alesis, BBE, Carver, Crown, Monster Power, Live Wire, Shure...

Well isn't that refreshing. Welcome to the board. Sounds like you are a "real" gearhead. Be careful though, the mamby pambies get riled real quick but if they do, then "accidentaly" drop a real speaker on their toes. That will divert the attention. :triwink:
Can we see some pics of your setups/gear?

Welcome abord and have fun.....

Welcome Fhawk

You just don't seem to get it do you? I originally bought the Bose AWM for several reasons way back in the 80s. It used to be Radio and cassette at that time. Mine is Radio/CD Player with Mike and auxiliary inputs. I originally used it at my Chamber of Commerce Business after hours and as a DJ sound monitor. I started getting offers of money for renting it. I still do, $150.00 per rental to companies and organizations for Training Sessions and small open houses. When I go out with it to do Christmas Open Houses in Lobbies etc I get an average of $300.00 per event. This is much more than some DJs get with a system.
Its a hit at the beach because it also operates on Batteries and DC power from the auto.
I have a tool that is a money maker. I have customers for such said equipment. I get paid for it so what is your beef?

Guess I stepped in that one! I'll post pics as soon as I take a minute to figure out what format your forum likes--I tried to post a jpg file in my profile, but got an error message that this type of gif file is not accepted--???

Thanks for the welcome...

Frank
