While CES is normally not the domain of DJ gear, there were several items on display.

Technics had the SL1200Mk7 on display as well as some audiophile variations of it. Gemini had two competitors (S6 and S8) for the Bose S1 at about half the price as well as the latest incarnation of their big all in one media player/mixer combo.

If I see more, I'll post but most new gear comes out in 2 weeks at NAMM.

Boy,
That Gemini S8 pro looks A LOT like the Bose S1 pro. Interesting name choice too.

Didn't see a retail for it. Someone get one and do a comparison😄

How can you insinuate they look the same ... clearly the logos are different .. :)

Wouldn’t that “someone” have to get a Bose S1 too???... Unless perhaps you’re gonna donate yours for the comparison???[emoji1]

Hey, I come up with the great ideas! I leave the logistics up to someone else😄

Wow, Gemeni added a RCA input. Personally that is something I would have liked to see on the S1 Pro, BUT using a Aux cable is not a big deal either.

...The speaker array under the grill appears to potentially be the same as Bose. Direct copy cat design. ....If the speaker sounds the same as Bose I'm going to be mad, LOL. I bet it's like a $199 or $249 price point.

Dammit, so we just paid $350 for a logo!😄

Unless you are using audiophile equipment you won't notice any difference between 3.5 and RCA assuming the same gauge wire etc. Neither are balanced line

Yeah, I know. I just have so many RCA Cables in my bag. ...When I wanted to hook my laptop up to the S1 Pro direct to do a wedding...I found myself going to my car to get a Aux cable that was plugged into the car Stereo, LOL. ...I have used RCA like my entire life, especially as a DJ. I only ever used AUX cables for plugging a phone into a vehicle head unit...Until recently.

If I find this S8 speaker for sale cheap enough in the future, I might just have to do a Speaker Shoot Out Video.

I would HOPE it doesn't come close to the Bose in sound quality. ...Also, this S8 looks like it does not have the same durable cabinet that the S1 has. It looks like it might be thinner, cheaper material, but that's just a guess.

I have the same thing going on. I keep one component and one composite video cable with me in my regular gig bag but in my big bag of cables at home there are dozens of RCA cables. I would personally be using Bluetooth rather than any cable but it really doesn't make a difference I guess

I would say a fairly accurate guess. Never in my life have I seen something for a lot less money that is of better quality

It's a Gemini .. same cheap cabinet material (and components) as you find on American Audio, Alto, Behringer, Phonic, et al. It will work, but my guess is you need to baby it like the others. Probably fine for a backyard party.

Yeah, my s1 has been used pretty heavily this year and still pristine condition
