The Wolfmix W1 .. from the Nicolaudie group that make the Light Rider and myDMX Go apps (along with a host of DMX applications).

No idea on pricing ...

Completely stand alone (built-in CPU, LCD touchscreen)
Similar (though expanded) functions to Light Rider/myDMX Go .. lots of color/movement/pattern generators
4 DMX Universes built-in (so up to 2K addresses)

4 Universes is sweet. Will have to check it out, but I believe I'm done with lighting in the DJ event market. The simplicity of all the auto-generating controllers is going to drop the monetary value and it will be easier to subcontract someone else to do it. At this point - I make much more money to hang a light than I do to operate it.

Based on MyDMX Go's stability and performance, I will leave this alone.
MyDMX Go is very stable from a performance controller standpoint. The issues are almost exclusively around connection issues to the box (I don't have too much issue, but others do). There isn't a connection here since everything is in the unit.

This thing looks dope. From the specs I'm expecting it to be pretty expensive. But I like that it doesn't run off of a laptop.

SoundSwitch is a pretty good solution, but getting on the fly control of it is complicated. This might be a nice alternative.

This looks to have all the fun versatility of the MyDMXGo...
without any of the hassles.

In other words, morons like me can use it.

We shall see if it comes in at an acceptable price.

They are currently looking to offer a beta test unit to 75 takers at roughly $395 + shipping. The website says the preview is limited to EU area only, though I was pleading for some US representation. That "might" mean that final units could be priced in the $500-$600 range.

I got an email from Wolfmix that they're going to have more beta product for testing soon, and that people who did the survey months back would get a discount for waiting.
I got the same one today .. hopefully we get the same (or close) discount the 1st wave got. But I won't hold my breath .. :)

Looks cool.

Has anyone ever played with light controller built into VirtualDJ?

I'm guessing it should support some generic USB DMX controller.
