Wow, I remember CVs back in the day (80s & 90s), they were like lugging around a fridge.
I honestly can't say I know any mobile DJs that use CVs these days. Hopefully they aren't these huge-ass speakers like they used to be.
In size, I use the equivalent of the CVs, either two or four JBL Scoops. I guarantee you that when deployed they do NOT sound like a DJ system, which is what I avoid! They have that Live Sound! As drzinc states, they have wheels and are much easier to move than a sub with no wheels that you have to lift.Wow, I remember CVs back in the day (80s & 90s), they were like lugging around a fridge.

Sorry but the new CV's sound like crap. The older model ones were the best. Now the older model ones I would say you're right. The new ones are garbage and that's just me saying this. I'll say please give the new one that I heard a listen and you decide. Trust me their is a big difference from the ones back in the day to the ones now.Mix aint no way in Hell even CV going Stanton would under perform compared to your Yammies.

What makes you say that? Back in the day The JBL Scoops and the CVs were associated as being in the same class even though they were slightly different in design. The Scoops have a front firing transducer while the CV has a back firing one.cant compare the scoops to the Vegas or 52's but similar in size etc.
